Well, I understand where you're coming from, truly, but the issue is that with those pirated versions, the "Make DVD Video" feature eventually just stops working after a little while. Since the price isn't actually that steep, I figured it would be much simpler to just buy Nero 8 and call it a day rather than spending my afternoon troubleshooting software here. Honestly, I need this tool to work more reliably than a basic Word processor...

Yeah, sure, but what if the problem isn't the software itself? If the "MAKE DVD" feature is broken because of some other system issue, you're just throwing money away. I'd feel pretty stupid paying $17 for something that doesn't even work. If you really want the legitimate Nero suite that badly, just go to their website, download it, and pay the man.

Just look for the "Third-party patent activation" setting. If that isn't toggled on, the rest of the Nero features simply won't kick in... though basic functions like copying a DVD or CD should still work perfectly fine.

Look, why don't you just tell me what you're actually trying to accomplish? Because if your goal is just burning a DVD, I really don't think buying Nero 8-ice is your best move.
