And please, forgive me if I came across as a bit blunt or whatever... I truly didn't mean to be rude. My apologies! 😉

Exactly what ST! said. My only disagreement is the timeline; I don't think it'll take three years. I watched HBO, and honestly, she wasn't anything special—it actually took me a moment to remember she was "that blue-haired woman."

Even if she possessed actual vocal talent (which I’m not claiming she does), she wouldn't stand a chance in the American market. Maybe she could pivot to novelty songs, but then again, you don't even need a good voice for that.

While I found her likable enough, unfortunately, just like all those other contestants from HBO, they were nothing more than fleeting talents on Story. I can barely even recall the name of that show anymore—which just goes to show how little people actually remember about things like that. They had their fifteen minutes of fame, and they'll rarely ever see anything beyond that.

Are you seriously suggesting she doesn't have a great voice?!?!??! 😕😕 🤷

I can barely even remember what that show was called, which pretty much says everything you need to know about their lasting impact. They had their five minutes of fame, and they'll likely never see it again.

I disagree. I think she’s one of the exceptions because, frankly, nobody from that whole batch of talent had a voice like hers.
Plus, Natalie and Sam already have an album out,
so why shouldn't Ivy record one too?
Even if she has the guys from Connect writing her songs, 🙂the album would be flawless.

Look, I’m usually pretty skeptical when it comes to those overnight sensations—you know the type, the ones hyped up by HBO, or those reality TV types... etc. But I just went down a rabbit hole watching her sets on YouTube and all I can say is... DAMN, SHE IS INSANE!
Honestly, she kind of just shattered my whole cynical attitude toward stars like that.

She’s got a decent enough voice—though, if I'm being honest, I always thought little Frank Sinatra had more soul—but honestly, it doesn't matter much on our current music scene. We just don't have any talented songwriters around here capable of actually utilizing voices like that. Even someone like Taylor Swift, who was mentioned earlier, could probably be working with much higher quality material that actually suited her range better...

Such lovely comments from you both! 🙏 But Ali Connectovac really knows how to pull off something incredible! Since Shalla and Natko are absolute legends, I have zero doubt that the songs on this upcoming album will be nothing short of masterpiece level! 👍 😉 😁

Looks like you're a huge fan of hers!
Yeah, true enough—the crew at Connectovac can definitely deliver, and you can tell this girl actually has some real potential.
Bottom line? If her album actually drops, I’ll give it a listen and give my honest take.
But hey, talent isn't everything. It’s not just about being able to hit the notes; you also need an audience that’s actually willing to show up and listen.
I hope she pulls it off, though the odds aren't exactly in her favor. Most of those reality TV "stars" are forgotten almost as fast as they were discovered.
Still, like I said, the girl's got quality.
Just gotta tell her: don't rush it. Everyone who tries to sprint usually ends up crashing just as fast.
Slow and steady wins the race.

Yeah, true, people from the Connectovac crew can really pull stuff off, and you can totally see she’s got serious potential!
So, bottom line, once her album actually drops, I'll give it a listen and give my honest take!
Sadly, being able to sing isn't everything! You also need to be able to build an audience that actually wants to listen!

Preach! 🙏
I'm with you on everything you wrote, and I can tell that even though you aren't a huge fan, you're keeping it real and looking at things objectively 😉
On top of all that, a singer needs solid PR and a killer producer who isn't going to churn out second-rate tracks. I know it's tough for her to become an instant superstar right away, especially since the show is already over, and by the time she releases an album, the hype will have moved on. From the American Psychological Association circle, only Natalie really made it happen—I heard Kedžo is working on a solo album, but nobody else. It just goes to show how quickly stars from shows like that rise and fall. Still, I'm kind of rooting for her to make it. It would be such a waste to have that much talent and not make the most of it. 🙂

I suppose I can proudly claim to be Toni Morrison's biggest admirer! 😍 😉 😁
As for the rest of what you mentioned, I find myself in complete agreement. 😉 😁

I’m on board with everything said here. It looks like even though you aren't exactly her biggest stan, you're still being pretty objective about it. 😉

Look, I wouldn't call myself a superfan or anything like that!
I don't really know her personally, but man, she can sing. Like, seriously, she's incredible.👍
Maybe one day I'll end up being her number one fan, but for now, I just think she's great.😉

👍👍 I'm with you on that... she hit it big overnight and now she HAS to drop an album immediately?!?! Music that’s rushed out just to satisfy some corporate greed is usually garbage. It’s just not worth listening to. Sure, there are exceptions, but those are pretty rare these days.

Do yourself a favor and listen to some actual country before you start judging the vocals of singers in that genre. Sure, country can be overproduced, the music can be mediocre, and the lyrics can be pretty mindless... I get it. But those people definitely know how to sing.

So, why on earth didn't she take home the win on Showtime?

Okay, someone get this girl a drink! 🤷

Maria Clark said:But why didn't she win on Showtime?

Well, someone's clearly had a few too many drinks, 🤷

It all comes down to the fact that they wanted a perfectly balanced ratio of men to women in the finale, and since they weren't interested in having two songs from the same producer, they pushed Toni Morrison out—it was rigged, just like any other reality competition...
😁
And as for me being her biggest fan... I wouldn't suggest questioning that unless you want to deal with the consequences!
😁 😉 😁
