Look, I’ve learned the hard way that certain food combinations just don't play nice together—think milk paired with cherry juice, orange juice mixed with yogurt, or milk and soda. The aftermath is usually... let's just say "liquid" 🙂
The whole reason I'm even bringing this up is because of a constant argument I'm having with my boyfriend. He’s convinced that his body is some kind of outlier and can handle anything, so he’ll happily knock back half a liter of milk or a massive yogurt alongside a Coke during lunch without a second thought.
The thing is, he’s hitting the bathroom three times a day, and his stools are incredibly loose—well, at least according to my standards. To me, things should actually hold their shape, you know, something you could practically pick up with two fingers, rather than what comes out of him, which sounds more like someone squeezing the last bit of whipped cream out of a pressurized can, if you'll excuse the vivid imagery 🙂. Plus, he’s constantly bloated and dealing with gas. Oh, and there’s this white discharge showing up in his stool too.
So naturally, I’m the one sitting here looking clueless... Or am I?
What have you guys experienced or heard about this sort of thing?
Thanks 🙂

Oranges and milk? Doctors say don't mix them because they can cause some pretty nasty reactions—think stomach issues or trouble sleeping...

I honestly think the same goes for soda and milk, too.

You’re absolutely spot on there!😁
In my opinion, milk is one of those foods people really ought to be more careful with. Most people don't actually realize how much they struggle to digest it, even if they haven't officially identified an intolerance yet...
What other food combinations do you think just don't work well together?

Why not just go with oranges and yogurt? I mean, even Nestlé makes an orange fruit yogurt...

The Fit for Life book lays it all out pretty clearly. Basically, you should stay away from milk.
A healthy meal combo looks like
meat plus veggies or a salad—skip the pasta, potatoes, or bread altogether.
If you're having pasta, rice, or potatoes, pair them with veggies, mushrooms, salad, or bread.
We don't need soda either. It’s just colored sugar water.
The food industry is really just focused on the bottom line.
That's how they make things like deli meats, hot dogs, and pâtés—none of it is actually good for you.
Even orange yogurt isn't exactly a health food.
It would be better to eat yogurt first, then wait about an hour before having an orange. You don't want everything mixing together in your stomach right away.

The reason I'm bringing this up is because my boyfriend and I are having a bit of an argument over this. He insists his body handles it just fine, while mine clearly doesn't, so he'll happily wash down lunch with half a liter of milk or yogurt along with a Coke.
On top of that, he’s hitting the bathroom three times a day, and things are... well, loose. At least according to me—I personally prefer things to be more solid, you know, something you could actually pick up, rather than whatever is happening with him, which sounds more like someone squeezing the last bit of foam out of a whipped cream can—sorry for the vivid imagery 🙂 . He's also constantly bloated and gassy. Plus, there's this white discharge in his stool.
And now I'm the one who's supposed to be clueless... or am I?
Any thoughts or similar experiences?
Thanks 🙂

If a girl told me all that, I’d lose any interest in being intimate with her immediately. 🙄

The reason I started this thread is because of a little disagreement with my boyfriend. He insists his body handles it just fine, so he’ll happily wash down lunch with half a liter of milk or yogurt along with a Coke.
On top of that, he’s hitting the bathroom three times a day, and things are pretty loose—if you know what I mean (sorry for the graphic description, but I’m talking about stuff that's more like liquid pouring out of a bottle than anything solid 🙂). He’s also constantly bloated and gassy, and there’s sometimes this white discharge in his stool.
Now I'm the one who looks like I have no clue what's going on... Or do I?
Any thoughts or similar experiences?
Thanks! 🙂

Yeah, everyone reacts differently to food.

I can handle all those combos; I haven't tried mixing milk with soda, but I probably won't. 🙂

For me, grapes are the biggest trigger—I can barely eat a few berries before it hits me. 😁
