You can definitely sharpen your ear over time, but absolute pitch? That’s a whole different ballgame... I’ve been living and breathing music my entire life—went through music school, and now I’m playing in a band. I actually taught myself guitar, too; I can pick up pretty much any song within two minutes and nail all the harmonies perfectly. Honestly, if I hear even one flat note, it drives me crazy. Still, I wouldn’t go so far as to claim I have absolute pitch, because people who truly possess that are incredibly rare...😉😉

Where are you based? And what kind of band are you playing in?

Sarah Moore86 said:Are these "visions" purely subjective? Like, would every absolutist claim these specific colors are primary? I'm asking because a buddy of mine swears he sees colors whenever he hears music. For instance, with Hendrix, he gets Purple Haze (sort of a blackish-gray, metallic, but mostly purple), then Red House, Bleeding Heart, and Angel (lots of red tones, just different shades)—he even sees desert sand when listening to voodoo child. Then there's Beethoven—specifically Für Elise—where he sees colors of total purity, like white and this super light shade of green—almost like an atoll, but much brighter and cleaner—whereas the longer versions of the piece feel a bit more somber to him.
I can't think of all of them right now, but there are plenty more.

Yeah, it’s extremely individual.

Are you guys using some kind of secret code or what? 🤷 What does "atoll color" even mean?

That’s just how people sound when they don't understand the pure magic of absolute pitch!😂😛

Talk about a bad trip!😂😂😂

Jason Chavez32 said:So, it’s great that your friend sees everything in technicolor, but that could also just be synesthesia—you know, a neurological quirk where your brain can't decide if it's seeing or hearing something.😲

Are you guys having some kind of coded conversation or what? 🤷What the hell does "atoll color" even mean?

Look, it's not like the guy is walking into walls because he's blinded by all those colors—he's just "seeing" them on some subconscious level. And apparently, when he tries to fly, he can't even sleep because he’s constantly hearing symphonies playing in his head. It happens mostly when he overdoes it on the music—listening to maybe 20 different tracks back-to-back, ranging from classical to 40s swing (even though he doesn't actually listen to that stuff)—and they're perfectly composed, note for note, with multiple instruments. Honestly, it sounds impossible to me, and I'm not sure I even buy it, but that's just the way it is. Either way, tomorrow comes too fast, so none of it really matters.
As for the secret code talk... how did you even stumble onto that thought? You're basically casting doubt on yourself here.

I'm from a small town outside of Austin, but honestly, knowing my band's name probably won't mean much to you—we aren't exactly headlining festivals just yet...😁😁

If you guys actually posted yourselves on YouTube, I have to say—it’s always a little refreshing to see a woman picking up an instrument. Not trying to be rude or anything! Just an observation.👍

Unfortunately, my ears work way better than my voice does, and honestly, it’s driving me absolutely crazy 😢
Ever since I turned 13, it feels like my vocal range has just been steadily declining—it gets crackly and feels so restricted... meanwhile, my hearing hasn't changed one bit and stays exactly how it was

🙂🙂🙂

Sadly, we aren't on YouTube, but you can definitely find us over on MySpace. Where are you based?😉

As for those encrypted conversations; how on earth did you just come up with that idea out of thin air? You're just casting suspicion on yourself at this point.

Steve, this has nothing to do with absolute pitch. 😁 But fine.
