Fibroadenoma diagnosis/treatment advice?

So, I just got my diagnosis recently, and I wanted to reach out and ask—do fibroadenomas always need to be surgically removed? Or is it more of a "wait and see" situation where they only operate if they start causing actual trouble or if they keep getting bigger?
Honestly, the mere thought of someone coming at my chest with a scalpel makes me feel physically sick... 😲 And don't even get me started on the biopsy I have scheduled; just thinking about that needle makes my stomach churn...

Don't worry, Michelle Price66—I had one in my left breast that was about 4x5 cm.
Here is how it went: I went in for the needle biopsy at MD Anderson Cancer Center (it isn't as scary as you'd think), and they send the sample to pathology to confirm whether it's benign or malignant. In my case, they weren't 100% certain it was benign, so they requested a surgical biopsy—which I declined. Instead, I worked it out with my oncologist, I. Milas (a wonderful person), and we decided on a surgical removal instead.
I feel great now; I go in for checkups every year, and since it turned out to be benign, I didn't need any chemo.
P.S.—if the mass is small, I believe they just monitor it rather than jumping straight to surgery, though I can't say for certain.

I've got them. They tried to send me in for a biopsy, but I went for a second ultrasound at Eljuga instead. The tech scanned me in like five seconds flat and told me skip the biopsy since it's totally normal for my age. Just keep an eye on it with an ultrasound every six months. If it starts growing past 2cm, then yeah, it's gotta go.

I dealt with a fibroadenoma in my left breast for five years after my first pregnancy—probably because the initial care wasn't quite thorough enough during that period. I kept a close eye on it with regular ultrasounds, but eventually, it grew deep into the tissue and they had to go ahead with surgery to remove it. It really wasn't a big deal, though; it was completely benign. Interestingly enough, I got pregnant again later and, against all odds, breastfeeding the second baby went perfectly fine. That breast ended up being his absolute favorite! So please, don't worry too much... even if you end up needing surgery, it’s manageable. Sending you nothing but the best...

My doctor actually mentioned during my ultrasound that I have a ton of fatty tissue buildup and quite a bit of glandular tissue too, so I’m thinking that might be what's causing all this... plus, I've dealt with water cysts before that just popped on their own out of nowhere.
