Betty Alvarez78 said:He said he wasn't sure what was going on... I honestly thought it was just some minor thing, like a cold or something—you know how women deal with those weird little issues, maybe just needing some herbal tea or whatever—but I didn't really get the male side of things until I spent hours reading up on it. Now I know that stinging sensation in guys can be caused by some kind of STI. He’s been totally faithful to me, and I trust him.We should have the results tomorrow, and I was just hoping to figure out what they actually look for in that swab test—like, which specific bacteria they check for, and if that stinging could be caused by anything other than an STI. Also, is it possible that it's something else entirely, or that one of us has had it for a long time and it just suddenly flared up in him if the test comes back positive for, say, chlamydia?
Sorry, I'm rambling and being super confusing...

So you're waiting for results tomorrow, but he already started antibiotics? 😕

oh man, please tell me more 🤷

The doctor took a swab, and we should have the results back by tomorrow. He already started him on an antibiotic—I think it was Azithromycin. Now that he’s finished the course, he isn't showing any symptoms at all. Everything seems totally fine.

Give me a break. 🤷

Smart doctor. Probably because those antibiotics cover a wider range of bacteria—like Augmentin or whatever—so they handle their business. They just don't care about antibiotic resistance.

How could I possibly know when nobody can figure out what's going on with him! 🤷

Maybe they'll be a bit sharper tomorrow, who knows?

No point getting worked up about it ahead of time! 😉

They'll be smarter tomorrow. It's the only way.

No point in biting off more than you can chew ahead of time. 😉

You're right, you can't plan too far ahead. But all this medical literature is just confusing me. I convinced myself that it was something sexually transmitted, and now I'm looking for someone to talk some sense into me.
I find it hard to believe that in men, UTIs are strictly linked to STIs and weird bacteria, because that's definitely not the case for women.
