I find myself in quite a predicament... You see, because of my recent move, I went ahead and picked up my medical records from my previous gynecologist, but since I haven't officially registered with a new provider yet, I'm feeling a bit lost. Now that I actually need to schedule an appointment, I realized I have absolutely no idea where I tucked those files away—it is entirely possible they were misplaced somewhere amidst the chaos of the moving boxes! What is the standard procedure in this situation? All I have left is that single intake form I filled out when I first signed up with my old doctor...

You just pick whatever new gynecologist you want to see and ask them for an acceptance statement, which you then verify through Blue Cross Blue Shield. Once you hand that paperwork back to them, they open up a new patient file for you. It’s really that simple, I guess.

Thanks so much, I honestly thought the whole process was going to be far more complicated than it actually turned out to be... 🙂
