So, I woke up today and my leg started acting up, specifically right here:

Now, look, the pain itself isn't really what keeps me up at night—I can tough that out for a day or two. The real headache is that I have a huge game coming up (around 9😁) and I absolutely need to be in shape. I need to be able to sprint and kick a soccer ball around without feeling like I'm falling apart

If anyone has some advice, please let me know. Even if it's just a quick fix to get me through the weekend
Would something like Deep Heat or a similar topical cream actually do the trick?

Please, hit me with your suggestions...

Back when I was dealing with some sudden back issues, using those Polar Ice packs actually gave me some short-term relief. It helped quite a bit at the time. But, if you're in significant pain, honestly, it might be wiser to just stop what you're doing entirely. You wouldn't want to risk making the injury even worse than it already is.

Now, honestly, I can handle the pain itself—I can tough it out for a day or two—but the real issue is that I have this massive game coming up (in about 9😁) and I absolutely need to be ready to run and kick the ball for at least an hour.

Can anyone help me out? Even just a quick fix would be amazing.

If that game is truly that important to you, just take some Advil about an hour and a half before kickoff and you'll feel like a newborn.

So, basically, if we're talking about using something like Deep Heat or similar muscle rubs, do we just apply it for a little while?

Well, essentially yes, though personally, I found relief for about half an hour before the pain just came right back. Nothing really seemed to touch it until I finally saw my doctor and they prescribed some muscle relaxers. It’s possible you might have a pinched nerve, and if that's the case, nothing is going to help much besides seeing a professional.

Honestly, even using something like Deep Heat helps a bit—it warms up the sore spot—but if you really want to get back out there, just grab some Motrin and go for it. I used to do the exact same thing when things got rough. I know, I know—nowadays I’m strictly limited to just walking, but man, back then, I just had to get things done.

Do you mind sharing which muscle relaxers they put you on?

Something involving M?
3M

I believe you can actually pick some up at a local pharmacy without needing a prescription

Oh, I honestly didn't catch that you added the Mioflex to this.
When I was typing up my last reply, it looked like there was just something with the m🙂
