Anyone here know a decent psychiatrist? If you've got a solid recommendation, please hit me up

I mean, what’s the deal? Why do you even need a psychiatrist? Not everyone is an expert in everything, right?
And where are you located?
If you’re in NYC, I’d say go see those guys over at Rib👍

If there’s anything I can do to help, just let me know. I guess I’m happy to lend a hand before you end up finding someone else

Man, I'm in NYC, but honestly, I don't even know the specific neighborhood—it's just kind of all over the place, pretty much everywhere at once.

You don't really need to send me private messages.

The whole point of this forum is to provide support for everyone who needs it, so let's just keep things here.

Maybe just let me know how I can help out while you're waiting to see a doctor.

I guess it might be helpful to know if you've already reached out to a physician about what you're going through; if you have, did they give you a specific diagnosis? It also helps to know if there's any history of similar issues in your family, or if you've been dealing with headaches—and if so, how often they tend to show up.

I don't even know, man. I was seeing a psychiatrist and they had me on Xanax and Zyprexa, but I'm totally off them now. It’s just that I keep running into these issues that most people wouldn't even blink at, you know? Now I'm just sitting here getting incredibly frustrated because I can't catch any sleep, and then the next day I'm just spiraling over other stuff—total nonsense, really. Just obsessing over things that don't even matter.

Has your doctor ever tried adding Remeron to your regimen? It’s honestly such a solid medication; I've noticed it can really start making a difference in how you carry yourself within just the first week. You might find you actually have some drive again, or just feel a bit more active and engaged with life...
I’d suggest having a real conversation with your doctor about it, though, and please don't go changing up your meds on your own. Some of these treatments take quite a while to really kick in—I mean, we aren't talking days, sometimes it takes years for things to settle

And honestly, try to spend as much time outdoors as possible. Getting out into nature is probably the best supplement to whatever your doctor has prescribed

Sometimes, if you're struggling with insomnia, taking 1 mg of Xanax before bed can help

You've got this entire subforum right here, so I’m pretty sure you’ll dig up some useful info...

Take this thread, for example—

Look, if something is weighing on you, it isn't "stupid." Just because someone else thinks it's trivial doesn't make it true. Trust me, anyone who deals with this kind of stuff gets it. Yeah, maybe Xanax helps with the sleep, but honestly? If I were you, I'd really try talking to someone to get this sorted out ASAP.
I already suggested checking out Mount Sinai, I think the people there are pretty solid, so just give it a shot. I mean, a conversation can't really be worse than how you're feeling right now.🙂

I'll give Rib a try. Thanks so much, really, thank you.

Nature and getting fit (specifically cycling or some kind of cardio stuff)..
but you seriously have to go as often as possible..

after maybe a month, you’ll feel like a whole new person...
I know, I've tested this on myself, being a total insomniac...

if you want to get out into nature, maybe join a local hiking club...
those guys usually head out somewhere every single weekend, and honestly, it sucks showing up alone, but they totally get it because they remember how awkward it felt when they first started out too...

Grab a map to Popovaca and you'll find a whole spectrum of psychiatrists—some great, some mediocre. You can't really go wrong. If one isn't a good fit, just move on to the next one.🤷 🙏
