I’m hitting a bit of a wall here and could use some insight: how do I actually burn subtitles onto a disc for DivX? Right now, I’ve got the subtitle files sitting in the exact same folder as the movie file, and they share identical filenames, so everything works perfectly fine when I’m just watching it on my PC. However, the moment I try to use the DivX player utility—you know, going into the library and right-clicking the movie to select "add to burn queue"—it spits out a disc with nothing but the video. No subtitles to speak of. I attempted to pivot to Nero to see if that would solve the headache, but my computer basically goes into a total meltdown and freezes up whenever I try to run it. I'm stuck sticking with the DivX method because it's the only way I can get anything to actually play on my old DVD/DivX player at home.

So, look, you can just try burning it directly through Windows... pop a blank CD into the drive... head over to "This PC," open up that empty disc, and just drag and drop the movie file and the subtitles right onto it. Then, you just hit that "burn" button on the side. Simple enough, right?

Yeah, I'm with you there. Even my old desktop can still spin a CD, but the DVD/DivX player won't touch it because it’s probably an AVI file. It seems like if I burn it using the DivX format specifically, then it actually plays without any issues.

I mean, why don't you just scour the web for some DVD converter... or maybe find a DivX tool and rip the files directly to DivX or a DVD format?

It’s a bit of a reach, but honestly, I wouldn't mind trying that myself. I mean, seriously. Is it actually impossible to hardcode subtitles directly into a DivX file? That's just my curiosity talking. Has anyone here actually messed around with that before?

Man, screw it... why the hell wouldn't they be able to? I honestly don't get what your deal is here... seriously, I have no clue what your problem is even about...

The real issue here is that I’m terrified of burning everything down. It’s just the film that’s supposed to take the hit, right? If anyone could walk me through the actual process step-by-step, I’d really appreciate it—I’m honestly at a total loss as to why this isn't working.

Does anyone happen to have the American subtitles for the movie "Dollar Bill"? It’s from 1965, and I’ve been scouring the internet trying to track them down, but I’m coming up completely empty... help me out here, please!
