P2P for beginners: Where to start?

I’ve been downloading torrents for about a week now, so I guess you could call me a total rookie at this. But honestly? The PS2 games are driving me absolutely insane. It’s always the same story: I download the ISO, burn the disc, and everything works perfectly fine. No issues there. But then I try dealing with those WinRAR files meant for the PS2, and everything goes south. I’ve already fried ten different DVDs trying every random method I can think of, and not a single one has actually worked. Not one! Can some actual experts please help me out here? 🤷

Just create a new folder, open up the WinRAR file, and drag everything from the archive into that new folder. That’s really all there is to it.

So, I unpack those archives using WinRAR into a new folder, only to find yet another single RAR archive sitting there alongside an MDS file. Naturally, I went a step further and unpacked that one massive RAR archive to get to the actual contents. I took everything inside and threw it into Nero as a data disc. First, I tried burning a multi-session disc. Then I tried without multi-session. Then I tried doing the same thing with the MDS file. Then the torrent part file... video CD movie. Nothing. Not a single one of these DVDs will actually boot on the PS2. So, back to the main question: Should I have just taken that one big RAR archive along with the MDS file—unpacked—and burned it as a data disc? If I did that, would I just end up with a DVD containing a RAR and an MDS file, or does the software handle the conversion automatically? I read somewhere online that an MDS file is essentially just an ISO image file. Please, for the love of God, explain this to me like I'm five years old!

When it comes to handling ISO files, I personally rely on PowerISO.

Well, hmm... you clearly don't have PowerISO or Magic
if you don't, just download them from the web.
Use one of those programs to open your file and create an ISO. The software will walk you through the process. Just hit "Burn" at the end and you're done. Go play, kid.👍 👍
