I’ve been feeling absolutely miserable for a few days now. My head is pounding like crazy, I’m dealing with these sudden bouts of shivering in the morning, and I just feel generally run down and sickly. All I want to do is sleep, but then when I actually get a chance to lie down, sleep completely eludes me. :ironijofrozenpilot2:
On top of that, I realized I’ve dropped about four or five pounds recently without even trying. It was totally unplanned, and now I just look gaunt and haggard.
I don't have a fever. I'm not pregnant. I'm not ovulating, and it isn't PMS. My diet is relatively healthy.

What can I take to give my immune system a bit of a boost?

I’ve been thinking you might want to try some B complex; maybe run it by your aunt over at CVS and see what she thinks.

Gotta get my blood work done. Check those iron levels...

I’m with Melissa Gonzalez21 on this one—getting some blood work done is a non-negotiable. I’ve been dealing with similar issues for about three years now, so I know how this goes... Definitely check the labs and look into some vitamins. Honestly, if your iron is running low, you might want to skip the B complex and just go for those yellow Centrum tablets instead. It worked for me.

You could always get a blood test done, though personally, I wouldn't rush into that just yet. All signs point toward a standard viral infection... rest, hydration, and some Vitamin C should help. Monitor things for about a week; if you aren't feeling better by then, it might be something more serious than a virus. If you run a high fever, there's a chance it could be a bacterial infection—in that case, you should definitely contact your doctor.

I’ve been feeling pretty run down lately myself; headaches, trouble sleeping, just generally lethargic. I’m guessing stress is the culprit behind it all, but I started taking One A Day today. Hopefully, it provides at least a little relief

Since we’re on the topic🙄
...I’ve been dealing with this weird dizziness for two weeks now. Sometimes my heart starts racing, too, even though my pulse is barely hitting 87 at the time.
...On top of that, I went in for a checkup because my sinuses were starting to act up—you know, those nagging headaches right across the forehead and around the eyes. I mentioned the dizziness to my doctor, and since my blood pressure is sitting pretty low at 90/57, I’m honestly stumped. She just gave me some Flonase for the sinus issues and basically told me that’s probably what’s causing the lightheadedness.
...I started taking One A Day... Lately, I've just been stuck doing housework since I'm home most of the day, whereas before I was juggling two different jobs...

...And now things feel even worse. There are moments where it feels like I can't catch my breath, and these bouts of dizziness and heart palpitations are happening more often...

ANY ADVICE?🙏

Not even close... 🙂

Actually, if I had to pick just one tip: take your Vitamin C and iron at the SAME time 😉

We didn't have any suspicions at all 😁

I mean, how can you even tell if she actually needs more iron???

In my three decades on this planet, I’ve never actually had an issue with iron levels. Even on my last blood work from about three months ago—which was mostly just to check on some slightly elevated liver enzymes—everything else came back totally normal.

Well, obviously we don't know.

We're all just guessing and throwing out advice for people who aren't going to see a doctor—they'd rather just hunt for answers on a forum...

Btw, the rest of us (including the OP) were thinking her immune system just tanked, especially since none of her symptoms really point to that... though the fact that she's got the shakes might hint at an iron issue 😉

I didn't actually start this thread—some other guy beat me to it... whatever, doesn't matter!
It’s not really the shakes I’m getting, more like these weird little dizzy spells

Oh, and I totally forgot to mention the PMS (though I've never dealt with symptoms quite like this before)

Rachel Brooks63 said:just because there's a little tremor, it doesn't necessarily mean it's an iron deficiency😉

But honestly, a tremor alone isn't enough proof😉

The doctor really needs to do their due diligence here!

Personally, I’d make sure to get my hormones checked too—maybe look into thyroid issues, specifically.

And I definitely wouldn't try playing doctor on my own🙂 instead of just getting some blood work done

Exactly.

Just like how we told her "iron and vitamin C"—we could've just as easily suggested Taxol or Zofran.

Look, nobody's going to run diagnostics or analyze bloodwork through a computer screen... I think we all pretty much get that by now...

I actually brought this up with my doctor about two weeks ago. He basically told me it’s just my low blood pressure—which, let’s be real, has been my whole life—mixed in with some sinus issues and general burnout. Whatever. I’m on vacation at home right now, which honestly just makes everything feel even heavier.

Just go get some blood work done. In the meantime, try to eat clean, stick to a solid sleep schedule, and maybe squeeze in about thirty minutes of light exercise every day.

So there might be some truth to that.
Whenever I push myself at 150% for too long, I completely crash once things finally quiet down.

At the end of the day, you just have to head back to the doctor and be a bit more assertive about getting the care you need!

I’ve been dealing with those exact same symptoms myself—I've been loading up on Vitamin C and trying to stick to a super clean diet and everything... but honestly, nothing seems to be helping 🤷
