I accidentally ate a fly

So, a fly literally flew straight into my mouth today—I’m serious—and I couldn't even cough it up or throw it back up. I ended up chugging three massive glasses of water just to force it down into my stomach, hoping my gastric acid would just deal with it and handle the situation. But honestly, since flies are basically everywhere, I’m low-key freaking out that I might actually catch some kind of sickness from this.

P.S. The fly was pretty big and meaty too, like, maybe an inch or so wide.

The stomach acid and your immune system should be enough to sort this mess out

My condolences. Last year, I basically drowned in a cup of Nespresso foam. I took a big gulp, swirling it around my mouth, honestly thinking it was just some stubborn undissolved coffee granules. Luckily, I realized something felt off right before I actually bit down. I didn't have any issues afterward, even though it was mid-July and the place was crawling with disgusting flies. 🤮

Honestly, this whole thing just made me sick to my stomach. My first thought was that I’d end up catching some nasty disease because those flies are swarming around trash bins, crawling over carcasses, and feeding on animal waste—just straight-up filth. It’s absolutely revolting. It’s been six hours now, and I can still practically feel it stuck in the back of my throat.

I’ve personally swallowed hundreds of them while tearing down the Pacific Coast Highway on my bike—and as you can see, I’m still typing just fine. ☕

Though, if we're being honest, I’ve actually swallowed parts of those common houseflies myself—back when I was just a little kid, I guess. I remember finding one dead on the floor under the dining table because my late grandmother was constantly swatting at them with one of those... what do you call them? 🤔 those fly swatters?

Mind you, I didn't go after the blowflies—those things are a bit chunkier and larger than your standard housefly, and they have this lovely habit of circling the dinner plate and leaving little "surprises" on your food. It's just delightful. 😁

Go eat some garbage so the flies stay away from you.
