So, I realized today that the left side of my left palm has gone completely numb...😕
It’s not that I have zero sensation or anything, but more like this constant tingling sensation, and there's this strange, unsettling "pain" whenever I touch something...

It stretches from the base of my fingers all the way up just past my wrist... though not across the whole hand, just specifically along the pinky and ring finger side, spanning that width down to the joint...

I haven't bumped myself or hit my hand against anything, so I am genuinely at a loss as to why this is happening.

Does anyone happen to know what might be causing this? It’s honestly quite unnerving when my hand starts tingling for absolutely no reason...

What could be going on?

You might have just pinched a nerve near your elbow—there’s a specific nerve running through there that handles the sensation for your ring and pinky fingers. I deal with this all the time whenever I lean my arm against a desk or some other hard surface...

Oh, I didn't hit anyone anywhere....

Maybe—and this is a big maybe—I might have bumped into someone in a dream or something... but even if that were true, is it actually possible for that kind of tingling sensation to start appearing this late?

Look, I haven't quite mastered enough medical theory to give you a clinical diagnosis—I'm certainly no specialist—but I can tell you that I’ve been dealing with this quite frequently over the last four or five months. Whenever I find myself sitting in a position that puts pressure on my elbow, I get this tingling sensation in my pinky and ring finger. The tricky part is that you might not even realize you're sitting in a way that triggers it...
It might sound trivial, but—well, hopefully someone else stumbles upon your thread. There are probably some MDs lurking around here who can actually make sense of this.

I knew something was up when my fingers started going numb—turns out it was just the way I was holding my hand and mouse while grinding at the PC all day.

My palm would go dead too, then it clicked: I’ve been sleeping on my arm like an idiot whenever I crash on my side at night.

It really is possible that it's related to sitting at the computer too much...
I have a habit of leaning my left elbow right on the armrest of my office chair... maybe that's the culprit???

I am definitely going to pay closer attention to this over the next few days...

I’ve also experienced my palm going completely numb, which I eventually traced back to sleeping on that specific arm while lying on my side during the night.

As for me, my right hand—the one doing all the heavy lifting at the computer—is actually feeling fine... but, uh, my left hand? The one that’s mostly "unemployed" most of the day? That's the one with the tingling fingers.

Well, nothing else to say for now... I suppose I'll have to pay a bit more attention to how I'm sitting and holding myself when I'm working at the PC.
