Anyone else's thoughts on weed?

Well... I realize this might seem blindingly obvious, but... have you actually considered trying to quit smoking? 😬
I can't say I ever truly experienced it myself, unless I was mixing it with a bit of bourbon. 😎
In those instances, a very hearty breakfast would usually do the trick in the morning—perhaps some cocoa or even a rich hot chocolate. Generally speaking, something sweet, steaming, and thick.
Good luck to you. 😬

Look, there isn't some magic cure for that morning haze. Honestly—your best bet is just to save the smoking for the weekend.😉

Back then, I’d usually fix myself a really hearty breakfast the next morning—maybe some cocoa or hot chocolate. Basically, something sweet, warm, and heavy.
Good luck to you! 😬
It's not that I want to quit smoking, it's that this morning hangover is killing me. Honestly, I think the weed we get around here is low-quality, and that's why I'm dealing with these side effects. And since I only smoke on the weekends... well, who can wait that long?

What if you just decided to quit altogether, rehab my boy... any kind of addiction is a losing game, isn't it?

I wouldn't go as far as blaming the low quality of our local weed; I recall having a similar experience back when I was in Amsterdam without a single drop of alcohol involved. The quality wasn't poor—far from it—but by the following morning, I felt as though Snow White, the seven dwarfs, and every other woodland creature were staging a violent assault on my skull. That said, the paintings at the Van Gogh Museum were absolutely breathtaking 🤣
In my estimation, no one can hand you a foolproof hangover cure; either you attempt to mix some concoction that might trigger a reaction, or you simply stop smoking altogether.
Furthermore, I am uncertain of your consumption habits, but once you have been smoking for a sufficiently long duration, your body will cease to treat the substance as an intruder, effectively eliminating the hangover.
And please, refrain from shouting at your old family doctor; the man genuinely only wants what is best for you 😉

The quality wasn't bad at all, nowhere near bad. But the next day? I felt like Snow White, the seven dwarfs, and every other forest creature were staging a riot inside my skull. On the bright side, though, the paintings at the Van Gogh Museum were absolutely incredible. 🤣
I don't think anyone can hand you a magic hangover cure. Either try mixing things up to find what works for you, or maybe just take a break from smoking altogether.
One more thing—I'm not sure how much you smoke, but once you've been doing it long enough, your body stops treating it like an intruder, and the hangovers might just vanish.
And hey, stop yelling at your doctor; the guy is just looking out for you.😉
I don't think the stuff is bad; it just has nasty side effects. I've been smoking for a long, long time. My pattern is totally random—three days on, five off; eight days on, three off; fifteen days on, one off. There’s no rhyme or reason to it. I just smoke when I feel like it, and I've been doing this for 20 years now. Does anyone actually know if the hangovers stop once you quit? Personally, I don't consider this an addiction, even if everyone on the internet claims everything is an addiction. I'm not looking for condescending answers.😁 🙏 👍

Listen, you can develop an addiction to just about anything, even the most trivial little things. Don't go fooling yourself. People are hooked on the internet constantly—I’m right on the edge of it myself 😁
And honestly, if you're just smoking occasionally, I'm not entirely sure how one would even classify that level of dependency, but let's move past that minor point.
Anyway, I once had a boyfriend who opted for weed over cigarettes for twenty-five straight years, and I have a friend who is perpetually high. As much as I personally detested their habit, neither of them ever seems to deal with hangovers or side effects while they're using it; the real issues only manifest once they actually try to quit. So... as long as you're dealing with the comedowns and clearly reacting to the substance, everything seems fine. It's when they stop that you should actually start worrying. 😉
As for trying to manage the struggle however you see fit—it's worth noting that a warm, sugary milkshake does the trick for me. Though, heaven knows what might work for you.
It's a shame I couldn't offer you some more concrete advice, and frankly, it baffles me that no one else is coming forward with these exact same struggles. 😕

Look, I’m only interested in one thing here—and I mean this out of pure curiosity 😁—the potential upside. The actual non-harmful benefits. I already know there are some, simply because everyone says weed is less damaging than cigarettes. I've seen that written all over the internet.
So, are there any genuine perks to using marijuana? There has to be a reason why doctors in the US prescribe it for medical use, right?

Honestly, I’ve tried a little bit of everything, and if you dose it right, there are definitely some perks to it. I used to smoke for a while—not every single day, mind you—but looking back on it now, I really can't wrap my head around why people even bother. To be fair, I never dealt with a hangover from it, though I have to admit my brain felt a little foggy at times 🙂 but honestly, just pass me a beer and let's call it a day
I remember this one time when I was feeling pretty under the weather, probably bronchitis or something similar, where I couldn't stop coughing. It was that deep, hacking kind of cough, like an old man who's been smoking for forty years. And I was thinking, "Eh, it's not that bad," so I decided to go grab a quick puff, just one hit, but naturally, I ended up taking a few more 😁 I started coughing so violently I thought I might actually pass out! It took me about ten minutes to finally catch my breath and settle down, but once that passed, the coughing fit just vanished completely, like it never happened. I still don't quite get how that worked...

I’ve been "addicted" to weed for maybe five years now, and honestly, I love it—and yeah, I’m putting quotes around that because I could totally go without it for as long as I needed to. There were these stretches where I was smoking every single day, all day long, which obviously gets pretty draining and just sort of turns your brain to mush... but then you take a week off and you feel like a whole new person. I’ve had a few rough mornings after a heavy session, sure—nothing major, just the occasional headache—but it’s never even close to what a real hangover feels like, and it clears up way faster. Plus, I can't stand alcohol, so I don't really have any other options besides stuff that's arguably worse.
Just take this post as a bit of propaganda: Go ahead, smoke up, people...

I have blood and urine tests scheduled for tomorrow, but we were smoking weed about three weeks ago. Will that actually show up on a standard panel, or do they need to run specific toxicology screens to catch it?😕

It’s obviously going to pop up on the lab results right away. Plus, if something like that actually shows up, medical staff are basically required to call the FBI immediately so they can grab that smoker and haul them straight to the nearest precinct for questioning before they even get a chance to see a judge for sentencing!

I’m not entirely sure where this thread belongs, but I figured this was probably the best spot for it. So, look, it’s pretty much a proven fact that nobody’s dying from consuming marijuana, and it’s actually great for managing pain, especially for people dealing with serious illnesses... What I’m really curious about, though, is whether it actually affects the body in other ways. I feel like I’ve seen a billion different posters hanging around hospitals, and honestly, the funniest part is that every single one says something different. I know everyone is just terrified that if people start using weed, they’ll eventually move on to something even harder. What do you guys think?

Of course it affects your body. It’s the THC, right? That stuff hits the brain hard because it triggers neuroreceptors that release certain hormones. And yeah, it works as an analgesic, but it's pretty weak. Nobody dies from marijuana because it’s basically impossible to get enough THC in your system to hit a lethal level. Doctors actually use THC for cancer patients who lose their appetite during chemo—it keeps their immune systems from crashing because it makes them hungry, plus it messes with your taste buds so everything tastes better when your receptors are sensitive. Recent studies show some slight neurotoxicity in heavy users, but luckily more and more research is coming back neutral now that the government and big interests aren't funding studies just to rig the results. There's no real fear regarding the physical fallout, though it can definitely mess with your social life or your job... since being high makes you lose touch with reality a little bit.
Does weed lead to other drugs? Yeah and no... if someone likes experimenting, they might start with weed and then reach for something stronger. People without boundaries won't stop. But even that isn't really the issue anymore, since most common drugs don't lead to heavy physical addiction, just psychological ones. Even the neurotoxicity from LSD or MDMA isn't a huge deal; if you take Vitamin C, your brain can pretty much recover in a month. Obviously, stay far away from amphetamines, cocaine, heroin, and especially nicotine... those are extremely neurotoxic and cause serious addiction.
As for the weed itself, unless you've got major mental or physical issues, I'd just say wait for your time... and that time is usually college... you'll probably grow out of it by then...

Man, there’s just so much to unpack in that book "MARIHUANA - the forbidden medicine." It really hits you with a lot of heavy stuff.
