I totally pulled off the whole concert mission for $3.00
On the first day, I cruised around Central Park on my scooter during the daylight, scouting out the best spot where I could just float across the water on an inflatable. I swung by Getro, grabbed a floatie for $3.00, waited until dark, and then slowly drifted toward my designated "landing zone" like some kind of North Korean defector. I stripped down completely naked and stuffed all my gear into a heavy-duty double trash bag. With the moon being so bright, I was sweating bullets thinking the cops or those security guys on the floating bridge would spot me, but it didn't hit me until later that they weren't even looking in my direction! Once I floated those 25-30 meters over, I just wiped myself down with my underwear on the other side and ditched everything in the bushes.

I started heading toward the main stage area and suddenly realized I was stuck behind some damn fence and still had to dodge the security guards. Then, out of nowhere, two girls from the festival crew appeared, and when I gave them the honest truth—that I basically floated my way into the concert on an inflatable—they actually took me under their wing and shoved me right into the front of the SY set! They told me if anyone asked about a wristband, I should just tell them to get lost, so after that, I was totally surrendered to the vibe of SY. Then my buddy showed up with $67 drink vouchers, and we went absolutely wild. I stayed a bit to check out Bank of Gaiu, but honestly, it wasn't really my scene. To wrap things up, I crossed over the floating bridge, took a little friendly smack from a guard, hopped on my scooter, and sped off down Savska to grab a burek at the bakery near The Washington Post. Right as I was halfway through my food, this white van screeched to a halt across the street near the Jehovah's Witnesses place, and this huge group of people poured out and rushed into the bakery for bureks. It took me a full minute to realize that the entire SY crowd had collectively decided to stop for snacks; you had the whole band and everyone just standing there on Savska, waiting for their food! Eventually, in my drunken state, I started raving about how amazing the concert was, and I even managed to high-five the band. It wasn't until they were walking back to their van that I remembered I had a camera on my phone, but I didn't want to be a pest, so I just snapped a quick shot of them heading to the van. So yeah, that was my first day watching the show for $3.00, and yesterday I told a girl from the VIP section the whole saga about the floatie and my "stealth landing," and she ended up giving me a yellow wristband! I cruised through again, and to top it all off, I picked up a blue inflatable and waved it around during Iggy's set. For me, it was a total 5/5 experience.
