And who even decides their lineup? I seriously doubt the organizers just woke up one day and thought, "Hey, let's book Amadou & Mariam and The Hold Steady..."

Kyle Wilson74 said:I ran into an old college acquaintance the other day. When I asked her what she was up to, she told me she was working on production for this massive festival.
I asked who they had booked. She said she wasn't sure yet.
Then I asked who was actually on the list. She replied, "We invited everyone—basically anyone that isn't mainstream pop."
So, I just went to grab a coffee.
I didn't even say hello.

As far as I’m concerned, I have to hand it to the organizers on this one—they really knocked it out of the park. It is quite rare to see such an incredible lineup of musicians who have actually gone out and proven themselves on the big stages already, rather than just being hyped up by some label. Honestly, I think it’s going to be a massive privilege to actually be there in person for the show; I mean, I wouldn't miss it for anything, I guess.
