I totally agree—there are plenty of interesting individuals and small groups out there, plus friends who show up to support them—which is great—but I just don't see an actual... scene.
Sure, there are a few big players, but space is tight and there’s zero consistency... You constantly hear whispers about something concrete starting up, but nothing ever actually materializes.
I mean, seriously—what’s stopping Matthew and Bryan 😬 from playing a gig once a week at some cool local pub? Is it a lack of recognition for the music or what? Most people—the general public—are more familiar with bands like Blackburn Rovers or those similar Irish-folk cover acts.
Then, they could naturally work in some original stuff along the way... I was just chatting with a colleague yesterday about how awesome it would be if this happened more often, and in more places... much like what happened last night.
Now *that* would look like a real scene, for both the big names and the little guys 🧐
Sure, there are a few big players, but space is tight and there’s zero consistency... You constantly hear whispers about something concrete starting up, but nothing ever actually materializes.

I meant more in terms of those niche, underground circles.

But I think things will shift quite a bit within a Year or so...
With projects and nights like these, things should start moving sooner rather than later...

As far as I know, next Monday we’ve got Ante Perković performing solo, just him and his beard, along with Pavel (that’s Aljoša from Ramirez, solo) ..🙂

They only played three songs, but hey, it was awesome... I'm dying for the album 😁!( May 5th concert at Barnes & Noble 😉! )
There was also some talk about the old crew getting back together 👋
The crowd was just right—it felt like a totally intimate, private gig...
Aljos also killed it; he had his backing band, three musicians, and even covered two Ramirez tracks..
Lea Dekleva did a cover of 'Same Shoes,' sang Arsen's 'Since I Don't Love You' with Perković, and I think she threw in two of her own tracks too...
All in all, I had a blast. 👍 😍
