Anyone tried acupuncture?

So, here’s the deal... I just found out that Medicare actually covers this kind of treatment. Does anyone know where these clinics are located, and do I even need a referral to see them?

To be honest, I usually trust alternative medicine more than our standard system, but I'm at my wit's end with this situation. I've got this constant allergic reaction on my eyelids—they’re always red, peeling off sometimes, looking all swollen, and honestly, they look incredibly wrinkled (which is great, because I'm only 19). I’ve been popping Benadryl for nine months straight now, and I am seriously losing my mind. If it weren't for those pills, I wouldn't even be able to leave my room because of how hideous it looks and how much it itches. It's exhausting.

Anyway, I’m really hoping to get rid of this nightmare soon. If anyone has gone through something similar or has some advice, please, let me know. I'd really appreciate it. 😘

though honestly, your best bet might be to just chat with your primary care physician first to see what they suggest.
I'm not entirely sure if there are restrictions on which practitioners you can visit—they probably need to be in-network with Medicare for it to count.

I actually tried acupuncture for weight loss once, and it really did the trick. I’d probably do it again if it weren't for the fact that those needles always gave me the jitters, not to mention it's a bit pricey these days.
The doctor I saw also mentioned he treats asthma, allergies, smoking cessation, and various chronic pain issues. If I recall correctly, you can use a referral with him.

The Holy Spirit clinic—I think they call it the Pain Management Center or something—is only open in the mornings from 7:00 to noon. They have Dr. Rajko Savić there, who’s a neurologist. It’s tucked away in an attic space, so it's pretty cramped and always crowded, but the upside is it's free if you've got a referral from your doctor. My sister-in-law had to go there for her migraines, so I ended up playing chauffeur for her once.😉

I'm curious, how much did you guys end up paying for acupuncture sessions? I know the results aren't exactly permanent—like, the weight just comes right back—but I've been thinking about giving it a shot.
