What Sarah Edwards38 was talking about—those are products from Rouge. Honestly, they're totally fine with me. I use them every once in a while and they definitely do the trick.

I think we all pretty much caught the drift from those first two posts 😛

And she keeps going on about that one universal shampoo in all the other threads too, just relentlessly... 😉

Maria Booth83 said:Hey everyone,
I need some serious advice because I’m at my wits' end here.
My hair is the issue. I have to wash it every two days—and look, I know for some people that's totally normal, but is there any way to stretch it out to three or four days?😕
The reality is that my roots get greasy almost immediately and just fall flat; they have absolutely zero life left in them, if you know what I mean.
I’ve cycled through different shampoos and tried everything under the sun, but nothing works. It stays weak, dull, lifeless...
What am I supposed to do?

I was actually at the CVS picking up some Biokap for my brother the other day—it was only about ten bucks for the 200ml bottle. Honestly, it worked for him instantly.🙂

After jumping from Estée Lauder to Paul Mitchell and stuff like that, I finally stumbled upon this new O'Rising line, and honestly, it’s been my absolute favorite so far. It’s plant-based, too. I follow up the shampoo with their conditioner, and even two days later, my hair still has this light, herbal scent—it actually holds up pretty well even in this humid Chicago air!

I’ve been using o Rising products for two months now to deal with my oily hair issues.
I went in for a scalp examination using a micro-camera, which is when I bought the essential oil, the mask, the shampoo, and the ampoules for $133. Since the mask can be used both before and after washing—acting like a conditioner—it runs out fast, so I bought a second one. I also picked up a scalp exfoliant lotion for $83. Honestly, I can sometimes make it three days, but by that third day, once I tie my hair back in a ponytail, I feel embarrassed. My hair looks like I haven't washed it in a month. It hasn't been revolutionary for me.
I've tried plenty of different products, and so far, nothing has actually helped.
Sometimes I use dry shampoo. I know it isn't great because it clogs the pores, but I don't use it often because the scent bothers me; it feels like my hair smells terrible once that powder spray (set)
is on. I searched for a similar product from a different brand, but I couldn't find anything worth buying.
Once I finish these products, I won't be restocking. There is no other way around it: I have to wash my hair every other day just to feel clean and confident in my appearance.

Brenda Anderson27, we were typing at the exact same time. You're out here praising it, but personally, I'm just not feeling o Rising.

Yeah, Nancy Martinez27, it feels like there’s no magic bullet here. Honestly, I’m fine with it; I used to wash my hair every two days, but now I’ve moved up to every third day. I’ve just accepted that this is as good as it gets.🙂
Are you applying a mask before you wash? All I know is that essential oils or those little ampoules go on before, but sometimes it feels like way too much stuff—I’m worried I’ll end up irritating my scalp even more!

Honestly, I deal with greasy hair too. I'll wash it in the morning and by the evening, it’s already feeling heavy and ready for another round, though I try my best to stretch it out for at least two days. Things always seem to get way worse during the fall, so that’s usually when I decide to just go for it and hit my roots—maybe an inch or two of regrowth—with some perm solution to change things up. And believe me, I have cycled through probably twenty different "miracle" shampoos specifically for oily hair, but this is the only thing that actually does the trick😉
When I do that treatment on my scalp, I manage to stick to washing it every three or four days for about three months. But then, sadly, everything goes right back to how it was because that greasy new growth is already there again...
But hey, if there's any silver lining... I guess those of us with super oily hair can actually handle chemical treatments a bit better. Somehow, our hair stays surprisingly bouncy and shiny despite all the grease and everything else we put it through😉

First, I apply a scalp scrub, then mix a specific amount of essential oil drops into a hair mask. I massage that into my scalp and let it sit for a few minutes. After washing, I apply a second mask and leave it in for about ten minutes before rinsing. Finally, I use the ampoules—though I don't use them anymore—which you rub directly into the scalp without rinsing.
It’s an expensive routine, and honestly, it eats up a lot of my time just applying everything and drying my hair.
A woman from O'Rising suggested I pick up some hairspray, mousse, or their hair gel to stretch the time between washes. Personally, I don't put anything in my hair once it's washed.

I end up washing my hair every two days myself...
I’ve just kind of accepted it as part of my routine, though I have to admit it drives me absolutely crazy. Honestly, nothing gets under my skin quite like dealing with greasy hair.☕

Honestly, I’ve been going through it with oily hair myself—just constantly cycling through different shampoos and trying every method under the sun.
For the last few weeks, I’ve actually been skipping shampoo entirely and just using a little bit of baking soda. If you Google the term "no-poo," you'll find a ton of useful info on how the method works, and I've even dug up a couple of links where they explain everything pretty clearly:
http://babyslime.livejournal.com/174054.html
http://www.naturalfamilyonline.com/g...uld-go-no-poo/
Over the past few years, I’ve tested just about every shampoo out there for greasy hair—everything from the budget brands at Walmart to the high-end stuff—but no matter what, my hair feels oily by day two. The only thing that really saved me was that "set" dry shampoo spray; you can pick it up at a local CVS. It helps me stretch my wash cycle by an extra two days, plus it gives my hair some much-needed volume. So, for a long time, my routine looked like this: wash with shampoo, use the spray after two days, then shampoo again after another two days...
Since I started experimenting with the baking soda trick, my hair doesn't start getting greasy until the third day—which, for me, is a massive improvement. And I’m actually expecting even better results down the road, because apparently, people say that during the first few weeks of this method, your hair can actually get oilier before it gets better.

crimsonhound28 said:You really ought to wash your hair much less often. I’d say once or twice a week is plenty.
That’s what the specialists told me when they examined my scalp a few years back.
I mean, obviously, nobody wants to walk around with greasy hair, but I think the more you wash it, the more oil your scalp produces to compensate.
For us girls, it's usually easier—we just tie it up in a ponytail.🙂

...I think you might be mistaken there... personally, the scalp specialist I saw told me it isn't an issue at all if you wash your hair every single day; it doesn't actually make it get oily any faster.

Naturally. It is actually recommended. Leaving oil and dirt on the hair by avoiding washing only causes more damage and leads to hair loss. Using a mild shampoo causes no harm if you wash daily.

My hair looks absolutely wonderful for two days straight, but now that we’re hitting day three, it’s already time for a wash... honestly, I don't even mind, as I've grown quite accustomed to washing my hair on this kind of frequent rotation... though since my last color treatment, I’ve actually managed to stretch it out for three whole days 😁

There is seriously nothing worse than a perm! It makes your hair look like literal fuzz. Just gross.😲

hahaha, wow, what a reach. For me, it almost never turns out like that.

I mean, obviously, you’re supposed to get a perm on unprepared hair, and besides that, you actually have to know how to work with it—you know, like, properly maintaining and caring for the hair once it's been treated.

I mean, there’s just no way around it—you've gotta wash your hair, and sometimes that means doing it literally every single day. I mean, we all hop in the shower every day anyway, right? It's just how it goes.

Donna Anderson19, I checked out those sites you linked, but none of it makes any sense to me.

Explain it to me. How exactly am I supposed to wash greasy hair using baking soda?

I’m currently following the advice on o Rising, but I'm willing to give your method a shot too.

Look, obviously, you shouldn't go into a salon with unprepared hair—that’s just common sense—but beyond that, you actually have to know how to manage it. You need to follow a real hair care routine once the color is done.

That sounds like advice for old ladies who barely wash their hair anymore!😁
