Has anyone ever heard of a documented case where someone actually died from overwhelming emotions? You know, something along the lines of the Hasanaginica story?

What an absolute load of nonsense. Maybe if he’d spent his life choking on cigarettes or overeating himself into a stupor, we might have a case, but this? No way.

Researchers at the Johns Hopkins university center in Baltimore, Maryland, suggest that what people commonly call broken heart syndrome might actually cause something similar to a left-side heart attack. Experts say that emotional stress, such as losing a family member or dealing with heartbreak, can disrupt heart function, though I guess most people recover over time.

Medical professionals refer to this as broken heart syndrome. They believe it could explain heart issues in individuals who are otherwise healthy and show no obvious cardiac damage. This study was published in the New England Journal of Medicine.

In my hometown, a young woman passed away from heart failure just days after losing her mother. People claimed it was grief—that she simply couldn't handle the loss. Personally, I think it’s possible; if fear can kill you, why shouldn't grief? The mind is a dangerous thing.
