Wait, so they didn't even maintain the blog, the forums, or monitor.com?
Would anyone be willing to share some insight as to why that might be?😕

Edward Turner27 said:vBulletin is throwing some weird errors. That guy claiming it's a server issue is talking nonsense—either the server is up or it isn't. It can't just be half-working...

We should probably just switch over to phpBB or some other software🙄 😁

That sounds logical on paper, but it’s just not how things work. PEOPLE CAN'T EVEN ACCESS THE FORUM!!!!!!!! Go check out coffee.com and you'll see. Everyone's basically living in exile there!😍 I just don't get why WE are still able to get in!

This is getting ridiculous. Down for two days straight now. You could honestly say this forum is offline 99% of the time lately.
I was actually just considering buying an ad banner on monitor.com the other day—but after this? I’ve officially decided against it.

Does anyone get why a forum works fine for one person, but someone else keeps getting "The page cannot be displayed" over and over again?

Supposedly it's some kind of DNS issue.😵

So, the forum's been down for two days now—and before that, we couldn't even post anything,

Is there any way to actually predict when it’ll crash again, or maybe get a heads-up on when things will finally be back up?

I don't remember it being this flaky; it’s never gone offline this often before.

The roots go until September 13, 2006, though starting on September 12, 2006, you won't be able to post 🙂 so better grab those jobs in the 3 or 4 hours we have left 🙂

I don't follow.😕

Hey, so I can't get connected properly over ADSL. If I manually type in the IP address "216.32.94.163," I can get through, but man, it's painfully slow. Right now, I'm just using a standard dial-up connection via Net4U, and honestly, everything seems to be flying—as much as it possibly can. I don't really get the technical side of it, maybe the DNS server at AT&T isn't communicating right with the server located in some sleepy town in Texas where this forum is hosted? But then again, if that's the case, maybe the US server is actually the problem, since everything else on the AT&T network works fine. Anyway, 👎

Everyone $17 chip in on my account; we'll pool enough to grab a new server 😁 😁 😁

Feels like we’re stuck in some weird cycle of even and odd days. Honestly, it’s giving me major 80s vibes!!! :jupi:

none said:The issue lies with the server. We simply need the funds to upgrade to a better one.

What if we set up a virtual piggy bank where everyone contributes whatever they can afford? Little by little, we could pool our resources together and fund a brand-new server for our community.🙂 😁

I can’t help but laugh while looking back at everything... just six months ago, everyone was trashing the old forum site. Before the big relaunch, they were all making these grand promises: "this new version is better," "it won't crash," "it's absolutely indestructible." In reality, it's actually worse than the original...

Honestly, my eyes are hurting from looking at this thing; the blue color scheme is blinding, and the site seems to spend more time being broken than actually functioning...

Does anyone else remember the old forum era?
Here is a little something for us nostalgic types...

I was under the impression that nobody actually archives the ENTIRE INTERNET. Is this even possible? 😕

Does this require a subscription, or is it just some automated background process running on its own?
