The War of Roseov

Out of sheer boredom, I finally decided to scan through this movie list, only to be met with a shock: there's no sign of rat roseov (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0098621/). Either the admin is disorganized, or the thread simply doesn't exist. So, I'm here to right that wrong.
The plot was incredibly straightforward: a couple falls in love, gets married, starts a life together, and then the differences emerge—petty arguments, eventually leading to divorce and a bitter fight over the house. To me, it remains one of the best dark comedies ever made—Kathleen Turner biting Michael Douglas where it hurts, Michael pissing on a roasted prime rib just to spite his wife, the excessive eating of canned meat, the finger up both nostrils, the brawl on the stairs...

It’s about time—at least the folks over at NBC might actually air that film sometime soon. 🙏

He’s a cat guy and she’s a dog person—or vice versa—and they spend the whole movie hating on the other's favorite animal, only to reach this grand conclusion at the end:
Cat people shouldn't marry dog people.🙏

Solid movie! DeVito was getting on my nerves a little bit, but whatever... I'll give it that.
Hey, did Turner actually end up killing his dog at the end? I totally blanked—it feels like ages ago..

Actually, no. There's a shot showing the dog hiding in the bushes. Such a shame, really...👎

Oh goodness, help me out! I actually canceled my plans once I heard this was going to be on cable TV—I know myself, I’ll probably drift off before the climax! 😠
So, I have a huge favor to ask: could someone please spoil the ending for me? The last part I caught was when the housekeeper enters the barricaded house and he gets kicked out, which I think was near the end. 🙏

Great movie. It really takes me back. I think this was actually the first film I ever watched on video when I picked up a player (cost me about $150 back then), and I can still vividly remember seeing the commercial for it on MTV while hanging out in coffee shops during that era.

Decent flick. Nothing groundbreaking, but it holds its own. It’s a pretty good look at how a marriage can slide from total bliss into a complete train wreck, even if the ending gets a bit over the top. Interestingly enough, looking at the IMDb ratings, it seems like teenage girls are out here giving it nothing but thumbs up. 😁It might just ruin their idea of what marriage looks like. 😁

I will definitely check it out. I actually think it’s a fantastic movie, though I have to admit the ending was a bit of a letdown. I’m feeling quite disappointed right now. 😢

I wouldn't say that. It’s a black comedy, after all... more of a cautionary tale about a failing marriage, really. It all comes down to that final lesson DeVito gives the young man who was looking to get a divorce... 😁

I remember watching it for the first time back when I was just a kid, sitting in front of a VHS tape (the title they used was the War of the Roses 😁), and ever since then, I’ve found myself reaching for it whenever it pops up on the screen.
It’s definitely one of those "classic" movies... 😍
