Lewis Hamilton vs. Danica Patrick

Could someone give me a quick rundown of what went down between those two and all this back-and-forth about who's actually the superior driver? I love watching NASCAR, but I’ll admit I’m not quite an expert when it comes to the technicalities of who belongs at the top and who doesn't.
I am aware that Michael Schumacher is a seven-time champion, though that was in motorcycle racing. Does he even stand a chance at proving himself as a talented driver in NASCAR?

By the way, Jack is one of my favorite drivers as well.

Honestly, it was mostly just noise—nothing more than empty talk. Michael Schumacher has stepped away from NASCAR for now, having signed on for another season with Yamaha, so if he ever decides to actually get behind the wheel in NASCAR, they'll be looking right at him.

Valentino would occasionally run some test laps for Ferrari, mostly just staying on their home turf.
Then he jumped into a real testing session alongside several Formula 1 drivers.
On the first day, he spun out almost immediately after a lap or two, but the track was wet.
That’s when the critics started chirping, saying stuff like, "See? This guy isn't cut out for this..."
But on the second day of testing, Valentino managed to squeeze out a good number of laps—maybe 40 or 50, I can't be sure—and his time was only about 7 or 8 tenths slower than Michael Schumacher. In my book, that’s a pretty respectable showing.

Lewis Hamilton was giving him a hard time about it—I don't recall the specifics—claiming he’d never make it as a real Formula 1 driver.
Valentino fired back, challenging him to a race using both a motorcycle and a formula car, then adding up the times to see who was truly the better athlete overall.
Lewis hasn't said a word since.

That's how I remember it, anyway. Correct me if I got any of the details wrong.

Meanwhile, Dale Earnhardt has been busy dealing with his new contract signing, and since then—nothing. Just silence.

And apparently, Briatore told everyone to just forget about all this back-and-forth, basically saying none of it is actually going to happen.

I guess the whole thing started because Dale Earnhardt was stirring up a bit of media hype, probably without even meaning anything serious by it. It put a ton of pressure on the Formula 1 drivers, and I think Lewis Hamilton spoke up first because the news was becoming more about Dale's random comments and dares than about who was actually winning the races.

I suspect the whole thing started because Dale Earnhardt was just stirring up media hype without actually meaning any of it. He put pressure on the Formula 1 drivers, and Lewis Hamilton was likely the first to speak up because the news cycle was obsessing over Dale Earnhardt's nonsense instead of who actually won the race.

To whole dual-discipline concept seems pretty ridiculous to me.
It’s just like when Colin challenged Schumacher.
Comparing lap times between Formula 1 and Rally is totally nonsensical in my book.
You’re better off taking a street car out to a track.
What's the point of those Formula 1 engines and all that anyway?

Well,
if I recall correctly, Schumacher personally tested several
Ferrari models just to ensure he was perfectly comfortable with the car itself...
as for Dale Earnhardt or Lewis Hamilton, I honestly haven't a clue...

If we’re talking about Motorsports in general—or even just looking at Lewis Hamilton in Formula 1—there really isn't much left to hope for 🙂
