Do you actually buy into the idea that acupuncture can fix a ton of different issues? It’s wild, but here in the States, you can only get it done by actual MDs. I was reading about this one hospital over in Washington, D.C., that actually has a dedicated clinic where you can go through your insurance—so, basically free if your coverage is decent. Even the World Health Organization has put forward specific uses for it; we're talking migraines, weight management, all sorts of chronic pain stuff. Honestly, would you shell out for 10 sessions $167 just to finally kick those migraines or whatever else is killing you?

But did you know there's actually an outpatient clinic at a major hospital in Washington, D.C., where you can get acupuncture covered by your insurance? It's basically free if you have the right referral. Even the World Health Organization has put forward specific indications for its use—things like migraines, obesity, and all sorts of chronic pain management. Would you personally be willing to shell out for 10 sessions $167 just to finally kick those migraines or other pains to the curb?

If it didn't work, mainstream medicine wouldn't have given it any legitimacy by now.—it's clearly effective enough to be recognized.

Honestly, it might just be more cost-effective to buy one of those electronic pain-relief devices instead.

By jumping into this survey, you’re actually helping out doctors who are looking to swap out those old-school, hit-or-miss, and sometimes even sketchy traditional meds and methods for acupuncture instead. Honestly, though? The whole reputation of acupuncture here in the States has been pretty much trashed. You've got people peddling all kinds of "miracle cures" that don't hold water, and then there are the amateurs—people who haven't spent a single day studying actual medicine or getting specialized training in acupuncture, yet they act like they’re experts. They walk in, lecture you on their "wisdom," and then conveniently charge you for the privilege. It's exhausting. Anyway, big thanks to everyone taking the time to fill this out, and to those of you actually engaging with the questions in the main post.👍 🙏 🙏

From what I understand, you don't see people practicing acupuncture unless they have a medical degree. Most of the practitioners I know actually went through medical school, and some even traveled to China to specialize. I’ve seen firsthand where it really helps, especially in cases where conventional medicine just isn't cutting it. Acupuncture works, sure, but only if it's being performed by a doctor or someone truly qualified who actually understands human anatomy...
Of course, like anything else, it isn't a magic bullet. You shouldn't credit it with miraculous results or anything like that, but it is effective and can definitely provide relief.
