Since yesterday morning, I’ve been feeling this sharp pain about eight inches below my sternum, right in the center of my torso. It feels like a sudden cramp that radiates outward toward my ribs on both sides. These spasms last for a second or two and the intensity fluctuates; sometimes it's dull, and other times it's so intense that I actually end up tearing up. The frequency seems to change too—during the worst stretches, it hits every two or three minutes, though there are periods where nothing happens for thirty minutes to an hour.
I honestly have no clue what this could be. Maybe a stomach ulcer? Please don't laugh, because I really haven't the slightest idea.

It feels like this sudden cramp that just... spreads out toward my ribs on both sides. The spasm only lasts a second or two, but the intensity is all over the place—sometimes it's kind of dull, and then other times it hits me so hard I'm actually tearing up. Even the timing is inconsistent; during the bad stretches, it’s hitting me every couple of minutes, but then there are these gaps where nothing happens for thirty minutes or even an hour.
I honestly have zero clue what this could be. Maybe a stomach ulcer? Please don't laugh at me, I really am clueless here.

I mean, I'm leaning towards it being your stomach too.
Maybe try sipping on some Pepto-Bismol or something similar, and stick to really light meals (and stay hydrated! — but skip the coffee, sodas, or anything like that)
If the Pepto doesn't do the trick, you should probably see a doctor for an endoscopy or at least get some testing done—you know, like a breath test for H. pylori or whatever.

I honestly have no clue what's going on. Could it be a stomach ulcer? Please don't laugh, I'm genuinely clueless here.

Girl, that sounds like your stomach.🙂

Thanks for the input!
If it’s my stomach, I might have a clue what caused it.
We were over at a friend's place this past Saturday and had some chocolate chip cookies. The thing is, the chips seemed burnt—they weren't even brown, just pitch black, and looked totally off. I told my husband they tasted burnt, but he thinks I'm just imagining things. He's fine, but me 🙂
