We honestly have no idea how many more entries they’ll release, but for those of us who live and breathe horror, you can never have too many! πŸ˜‰
If you guys have your own personal favorites, please share them! Just one rule: make sure the movie has at least one sequel!

Night, Dawn, and Day of the Dead.

The Ring movies (the Japanese versions).

If I actually have to pick from this list, I’m going with the Halloween franchise.

I guess I don't know what else to add... I thought about Hellraiser at first, but those sequels are kind of garbage, I suppose.

Maybe some anthology stuff? Or Freddy, though the original Halloween probably beats him by a mile...

Personally, I actually dug the second one, even if the whole movie is pretty mindless... πŸ™‚

Out of those three, Freddy is my top pick.

As for Evil Dead... there isn't a better comedy out there. Personally, I wouldn't even classify the first or second films as horror.
And then you have Army of Darkness... which really should have just been some kind of third sequel to Evil Dead.

Man, you really don't know the basics when it comes to horror movies! πŸ‘

Ahhhh !!!! My absolute favorite genre! 😁 Look, first off, let’s just shut down those endless debates where people go, "Oh, this horror movie isn't scary..." or "this one sucks..." or "it's too much like this..." Ugh! Honestly, I have zero interest in getting bogged down in those kinds of arguments! πŸ˜‰ We can settle that once and for all by asking: why isn't certain horror scary anymore? It's simple: we aren't living in the 70s or the 80s anymore, and even that specific 90s vibe is losing its grip on us! πŸ˜‰ What I mean is, all those tropes that used to keep us up at night back then? Today, they lookβ€”at the very leastβ€”kind of ridiculous and totally unbelievable. Especially when you can turn on the news and see actual footage of extremists or insurgents committing horrific acts against Americans... and then it just comes full circle... American soldiers firing high-end, polished M-16s at unarmed women... children... innocent people... 😒 Anyway, enough of that dark stuff...
Back on subject!

HELLRAISER I, II, III
EVIL DEAD TRILOGY
THE OMEN
BRAINDEAD
BAD TASTE
ZOMBIE FLESH EATERS
THE BEYOND
NIGHTBREED
DEMONS
HALLOWEEN
HOUSE
THE HOWLING
THE FOG
LIFEFORCE
NEAR DARK
PET SEMATARY
RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD III
SLEEPWALKERS
THE SOCIETY

There... that's the list!!! Happy scaring! 😁

And what's that supposed to mean?
Maybe they're funnier than any actual comedy?
Especially Evil Dead.

I mean, Evil Dead isn't really just a horror movie. It's more like a horror-comedy, but honestly, you could call it horror-comedy-fantasy-action-romance... I won't list everything else because that movie is basically impossible to categorize, so yeah, I guess it's kind of like that.😁

If we look at the Evil Dead films, Chucky (though I’m pretty sure they released Child's Play 4 and there might even be a new sequel coming out this year!), and the Day of the Dead seriesβ€”including those two remakes and Night and Dawnβ€”we could actually put together a really solid new pool of horror trilogies!

The Evil Dead isn't strictly horror. It’s more of a horror-comedy, though honestly, you could call it horror-comedy-fantasy-action-romance... I won't list them all because that movie refuses to fit into one single box. So, there you have it.😁

Can someone please just agree it isn't horror?πŸ™‚
I'm not saying it's a bad movie. Personally, I love it. But if we're talking genre, it's not horror.
It’s nothing like Bad Taste or Braindead.
Those three are solid picks if you want a laugh or if you need to ease someone into the genre who's actually afraid of horror.😁

By the way, why is nobody bringing up Cannibal Holocaust or Cannibal Ferox?
They're decent enough movies.

I’m not saying it’s a bad film, I actually think it’s great, but calling it horror feels wrong...
It doesn't have that vibe you get from Bad Taste or Braindead.
Those three are solid picks if you just want a laugh, or if you're trying to ease someone into the genre who's usually terrified of horror films...😁

Wait, did you even see the original The Shining?

Ethan Perez97 said:By the way, why hasn't anyone brought up Cannibal Holocaust or Cannibal Ferox lately?
They're decent enough movies...

Because horror isn't solely defined by how much blood you can pour on screen...

It might not fit the standard horror mold, but I can say with absolute certainty that this movie has been slapped with an R rating in plenty of countriesβ€”and in some places, the uncut version was actually banned entirely!😳

I don't consider Cannibal to be a horror film... I suppose everyone has their own definition of what qualifies as horror, but in my opinion, a high body count doesn't automatically make something a horror movie.
... though drawing a clear line between horror and thriller can be difficult sometimes.
... I know I'm drifting into off-topic territory here, but why is Friday the 13th categorized as horror while Lamb is seen as a thriller? Even though, personally, I find Lamb much more unsettling than Jason Voorhees.
Do we define horror based on the content itself, or by the reaction it provokes in the audienceβ€”assuming that was the filmmaker's intent?
... honestly, it might not even matter how we define these things. There is a general consensus on certain classics, while other films remain subjective... everyone will agree that The Exorcist is a horror film, but there will always be a debate over whether Cannibal or Lamb belongs in that category.
