So, here's the deal,

It’s been exactly three weeks since I kicked the smoking habit for good. High five to me! :klap:
And honestly, things are going pretty smoothly...

But! There's a catch. I've already put on about two pounds! ! !
And if that wasn't enough, my stomach is constantly bloated... it feels like I'm five months pregnant or something.

People, I am begging you! Help! 🙂

Does anyone have any advice?
Dieting?
Workouts?
Anything at all?
I just need to get rid of this belly... and stop the scale from creeping up any further.

Just chew some gum and drink some water to calm those nerves instead of gnawing on things 😉

I suppose it might be time to pick up the habit again...

Ha... 🙂>

Are you kidding me?!

I am certainly not going back to smelling like an ashtray.
🙂 No thanks! I’m actually quite enjoying this whole non-smoker thing...
My skin looks better already. Clearer, more radiant... everything just feels better...

well, if you're going to be like that, then maybe you shouldn't be smoking cigarettes at all 😁

I just want to get rid of this bloating... and stop the weight from creeping up!

For now, you should probably find some low-calorie way to satisfy that oral fixation, like chewing gum or having some Tic Tacs (they're only like 2 calories)... and then you can slowly phase that out...

I quit after smoking for about 10 or 12 years—and within six months, I had packed on an extra 25 pounds... mostly from snacking and sweets...

Regardless, after a few months, it all felt normal again... and now, seven years later, I don't smell like smoke, my breathing is easier, and I can actually taste fine wine and good cheese...

I believe it was the single best decision I have ever made for myself...

And a word of caution: for about half a year, my every thought seemed to revolve around cigarettes, and I didn't know what to do with my hands (so I just reached for pretzels or chips)....

Forget the weight; your health is far more important. I'd take a dessert over a cigarette any day!

Never again...👍

Maria Perez87,

👍
I’m with you on this one,
Better to be healthy and a little soft around the edges...
Than sickly and skin-and-bones...

Though if I'm being honest, my ideal would be: healthy and slim...

But let's face it, the real priority is kicking the smoking habit... Once I finally call myself a non-smoker—then I'll deal with the weight gain.

Chloe Morris12,

Can I just send a DM, or is an email strictly required?

The main thing is that you finally quit smoking.

I managed to drop about 18 pounds myself, 😢 believe it or not!!!

But there’s absolutely no way I’m ever lighting up again.

Now that spring is here, I'll be jogging around Central Park with some bacon on the side—that should do the trick. And if it doesn't? Who cares. Honestly, my curves have never looked better anyway 😁

And let's face it, more is always better than less 😁

Anyway, good job on quitting... now just make sure it stays that way... FOREVER.... then we can worry about the weight loss 👋

I am honestly not sure if I have actually gained weight. If you ask me anything else about it, all I can tell you is that my stomach just feels bloated after I eat :P. It is not like I am REALLY that fat, especially since I actually dropped about 10 or 11 pounds between January and now. 😁

By the way, I haven't touched a cigarette in three months; I’m just being careful about what I eat. 🙂 Not too much, I suppose. Maybe I was up a few pounds during that first month, but it fluctuates constantly depending on when I last ate, blah blah.
