Medication recommendations?

I've been rocking soft lenses for like six months now—keeping them in Oxysept solution and using those Ultrazyme tablets for cleaning. But lately, they’re constantly getting cloudy and I'm seeing these weird white spots everywhere, even though I'm being super diligent with my cleaning routine.

Anyone else dealt with this crap?
I actually have some Plurisol M Plus stuff too—it's like a maintenance and cleaning line—but I haven't touched it because I have zero clue how to use it right, and honestly, sticking to the Oxysept feels way easier.
Does anyone actually use that Plurisol stuff, and is it any good?

I was at my checkup the other day (I’ve got contact lenses, the soft kind) and the nurse happened to be finishing up with this girl who wears hard lenses. Her corneas looked a little cloudy, so the nurse told her she absolutely had to go grab a lens cleaner machine. I think they sell those little devices at pharmacies or maybe some optical shops.😉

Well, if you're starting to see those white spots on your soft contact lenses, they’re basically toast—you're gonna need a fresh pair.
I used to deal with that all the time back when I was still using those cleaning tablets (I think they were RenU, along with the solution), but I finally made the switch to the new Complete formula that doesn't even require the tablets! Honestly, while I was finishing up my last two bottles of solution, I caught an ad for that one specific lens cleaner, but I haven't actually pulled the trigger and tried it yet.

Listen, I went through the exact same thing with my contacts. They were incredibly drying, irritating my eyes, and even starting to get these weird white spots on them. Then I switched over to a new set from Acuvue, and within three days, the same thing started happening again.

It peaked when my eye actually started leaking discharge, and I ended up racing straight to the ophthalmologist. Turns out I had a nasty case of conjunctivitis, and honestly, I blame my workspace. The air is just soooo dry and probably crawling with bacteria. I spent two weeks treating my eyes, and now I’m stuck wearing glasses.

I don't know, maybe go get your eyes checked out and have someone look at your lenses. It might just be that your specific environment doesn't play well with contacts. For what it's worth, I've been wearing contacts since '97, and this is the first time I've ever dealt with issues like this.

Just switch to three-month lenses. You won't be swapping them out nearly as often.

I've been wearing contact lenses for five years now.
Back when I was using Johnson & Johnson lenses, I constantly dealt with white spots on the lenses and frequent blurry vision.
To be honest, my eyes just couldn't tolerate Seleco.
As for the Bausch & Lomb annuals, they "gifted" me nothing but constant eye discharge...
I tried absolutely everything. I was seeing an ophthalmologist constantly and even seriously considered giving up and going back to glasses.
In the end, I settled on Bausch & Lomb three-month soft lenses 🙏 🙏 🙏
I use Ren Multiplus all-in-one solution for maintenance.
During the winter, because the air gets so dry, I always carry Refresh Contacts (artificial tears) with me, though I rarely actually need them.

It took some time to find the right lenses for me, but now that I have, I can't imagine ever switching back to glasses.

I just went in for a checkup at the end of the third month, and the doctor couldn't even believe how many people have this issue. They look brand new 😍

So, how much are you guys actually paying for those three-month supplies?
And another thing—can anyone tell me if we can find those cheap, single-use disposable lenses around here? You know, the ones that only cost a couple of bucks?

The one-day Acuvue from Johnson & Johnson are honestly fantastic.

A monthly supply usually arrives in about $83. Though, you can easily wear them for two or three days straight, day and night, without even taking them out.

There’s zero hassle with solutions or little cases; they're perfect for traveling.
They feel lightweight, fresh, and just really let my eyes relax.

I honestly think Acuvue are amazing (I haven't had to deal with glasses once 🙏), but man, they’re starting to burn a hole in my wallet. I'm seriously considering switching things up—especially since my specific prescription is always out of stock anyway. Roughly $4 per lens$83 (it varies depending on where you shop). I picked mine up at LensCrafters and Warby Parker.

I honestly think my prescription might change $100 within the next six months or so. I'm really not sure though—my dad usually handles buying them for me, so I just have to take his word for it! 🙄

Occasionally, I find myself utilizing those little protein removal tablets—whatever the technical term for that process might be—though such occurrences are exceedingly rare. Most of the time, I simply let them soak in either Complete or Bausch + Lomb contact lens solution. To be perfectly candid, my last pair lasted nearly eighteen months, purely because I lacked the necessary motivation to trek out and purchase replacements. I find myself wondering, do you all actually adhere to the manual when handling your soft monthly lenses in the evening, specifically that ritual of rubbing them with your finger as the solution instructions dictate?
