I am struggling to find the right way to phrase this without sounding foolish... I’ve developed what look like small bumps on my lower back, and sitting down has become quite painful. They aren't particularly large, but I suspect they might be inflamed, which would explain the stinging sensation when I sit. Does anyone have advice on how to handle this? I realize this might sound trivial 👎

It’s not stupid at all... honestly, based on how you're describing this (your overly technical breakdown), I'm thinking you might have developed hemorrhoids. 😉Go see a doctor, they'll get you sorted out.

Forget hemorrhoids... this guy's got more issues than a broken radiator.

a haaaa, my bad—you clearly saw it with your own two eyes, so you know the deal... my mistake 😁
but seriously, I still think he needs to just get his act together and head out

It was pretty obvious he felt awkward talking about it, so he didn't specify if it was on or inside the butt. If it's on the surface, it's probably just some pimples, but if it's internal, you really need to see a doctor. I deal with my own gut issues, and unfortunately, I know from experience that you shouldn't mess around with stuff like that.

Thanks for the help. They’re on the outside and smaller than I expected, so I doubt they're hemorrhoids. It’s stopped for now. Sitting on a cushion that was incredibly soft helped ease the discomfort. Now, sitting normally isn't an issue if 🙂

Just watch out that you aren't sitting on anything too hard, otherwise you might pinch that area between whatever you're sitting on and your pelvic bone. Just let it pass like any other minor irritation.

If things get actually nasty, you might even need to see a doctor. I know a guy who had an ingrown hair in that area that got infected; he ended up having to head to the ER. It wasn't a huge deal—they just had to lance it, clean it out, pull the hair, and he was fine. But yeah, he was in a lot of pain until they handled it. Though, if you say it's already feeling better, you probably don't have much to worry about.
