Sting has pulled out of tours a few times now, so I wouldn't hold my breath.
As for The Hives, that was total nonsense—there were never actually any serious talks.
Apocalyptica canceled because they decided to join Rammstein on tour as support rather than doing their own solo run.
There's "speculation" 😁 that Franz Ferdinand might show up at a summer festival somewhere nearby.

But hasn't it already been confirmed that they won't be hitting the big festival circuit here, though there's a chance they could pull off a standalone concert in Chicago or perhaps somewhere else in the Midwest?

Look, I’m just repeating what they actually said. I don't have any inside track on whether their arrival is confirmed or not. Honestly, though, I doubt any city in the former Yugoslavia has the budget to pull off a solo concert for them. Realistically, I don't see them bothering to come out this way unless they're part of a major festival.

ELECTRIC FRANKENSTEIN (USA)
DOLLHOUSE (Sweden)
IRON HEAD (USA)
are playing at Kset on April 25th. Does anyone have actual confirmation on that? Also, does anyone know when Liars are scheduled to play?

Yeah, I heard the same thing—but the offer came in a bit too late. That date is already booked with xiu xiu... plus Liars are playing the day before.

Unbelievable... Turning down Electric Frankenstein because of that garbage... You people have lost it. I was actually looking forward to seeing how Liars and EF would mesh together—I was ready to head over to something for them, but neither Liars nor Watt are big enough draws to justify paying for a train ticket just for their sake. Dammit!

My email says it's either the 25th or the 26th, though I can't quite tell which date falls on at KUD F. P. / Ljubljana and which one is set for Kset.

First off—that garbage costs $500 while Electric Frankenstein is three times that. Second—the offer for that trash came in a full month before the EF proposal. Third—at least 150 people will show up for that junk, whereas I’m afraid we won't even hit 100 for EF. When you run the numbers, the math is pretty damn obvious. 😉

I have another idea, though—I'll give it a shot...

There’s still room besides Kset 😁 for instance, Liars would fit perfectly in the SCa gallery 😁

That isn't funny, and it certainly isn't kind. In fact, the entire rest of their European tour was canceled because of a massive organizational failure. I mean, when you have 80,000 people at Roskilde and nine people end up suffocating against the barricades, who are you going to blame first? Not the band! What makes it even more heartbreaking is that it happened during the song Daughter, which is one of the band's gentlest tracks. People rarely even mention the date of that concert or the name Roskilde anymore, and the band won't perform there on that specific date ever again.

As for Pearl Jam coming to the States, there's been talk about them hitting Chicago on the official forums too. It was first announced for September, but now I'm seeing June mentioned, so I'm really not sure! Ideally, the tour should kick off about a week after the new album drops, though we don't even have a release date for that yet.

I am just so incredibly excited to hear some decent music from a band that won a Grammy Award just last year! It was an award for lifetime creativity and best improvisation, and considering only about 15 musicians or groups have ever received it, they truly deserve every bit of praise!
