It isn't exactly heavy rock, more like a modern rock sound, but they are truly fantastic... Their debut album just came out, and the band is called Rooster. Their hit single currently on the radio is Staring at the Sun! Enjoy🙂

Rock is officially dead! Okay, look—you can still stumble upon a band here and there that absolutely rips, they aren't bad at all, like White Leon or those Hellacopters guys doing that garage rock vibe. I don't mean to make you feel defensive or anything, but those names you listed? Hmm...!? I mean, sure, they’re technical wizards, but let's be real—they're mostly just ego-driven macho shredders. You shouldn't dwell on them for too long, or you'll end up feeling totally numb and spiritually bankrupt. See, the whole point of rock is the BAND. Rock is war music—it was born from the blues and the screams of the suppressed. This world isn't exactly a paradise, right? And we can only change things by evolving our collective consciousness. That's why concerts feel so damn good! We gather around the vibrations of a band and finally feel like we aren't alone—like we actually have the power to do something. That's why real, honest-to-god rock has to be simple, sincere, and clear. It needs to be sharp like a sword and piercing like a spear. It should cut straight through to the heart and mind, tearing down those towers of hypocrisy, greed, and all those "-isms" that stop us from living happy, free lives. ENOUGH BULLSHIT!
Here's some actual music for you: AC/DC—just their first five albums.
The Cult—the electric era and that last Beyond Good & Evil.
ZZ Top and Aerosmith—specifically Done with Mirrors '85 and Pump '89.
Skunk Anansie—top tier stuff!
Motörhead—especially that last one, Inferno.
Sex Pistols and Iggy Pop.
Iron Maiden—Killers, Piece of Mind, Powerslave, Somewhere in Time.
Black Crowes.
The Clash—their first album.
There's a massive pile of other bands, too—of course, you've gotta chew through all the classics like Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Jimi Hendrix, Cream, Animals... And yeah, you definitely shouldn't limit yourself to just "pure rock." It's all connected—old school, punk, reggae, heavy, pop, soul, afro, ethno, jazz, Techno House... We have to stay broad-minded if we want to recognize true, essential values. At the end of the day, nothing beats a good time, laughing until you cry, great sex, a solid riff, and RESPECT.

If you want solos that are actually woven into the song rather than just being annoying noise, you have to check out Dire Straits.

You can test them out by finding a live version of Sultans of Prey online from the Alchemy concert—just listen to about 10 minutes... Honestly, I haven't heard a better solo since.👍

I've got some recommendations for you. If you're into strong vocals, check out the self-titled album. However, if you prefer instrumental tracks, go with Wild Wonderful Purgatory—that's where the real rock lives.
I haven't caught up on the entire thread yet, so I might be repeating myself here, but you should definitely download Kyass - Welcome to Sky Valley.
One of the best rock bands I've come across in the last two years is The Awesome Machine. I highly recommend their album Soul of a Thousand Years... it's pure desert rock!
If you're looking for powerful rock/blues performers, Eric Sardinas is a great choice...
And finally, the absolute best rock band I have heard since the days of Led Zeppelin and Hendrix: Colour Haze from Germany.

Look, they aren't exactly occultists or anything, but I honestly think The Libertines are absolutely killer...
btw, their website actually has a killer jukebox on it.

Ramones, The Clash, Green Day. Fast, punchy, and damn good—it's pure high-energy stuff to lift your spirits.
On the other hand, if you're actually looking to sink into a deep, dark depression? Go with The Doors, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, or Led Zeppelin.
