eeeeeeeeee finally got around to watching it 👋

Movies rule, man. It’s just this brilliant little thing about a director making a rockumentary about some fake hard rock band—you know, their whole rise, fall, and eventual path to fame (in Japan, obviously). I mean, I haven't laughed that hard in a while. It's honestly killer, especially if you used to be, currently are, or plan on being a fan of those hard rock gods 🙂

Yeah, I feel the same way. Honestly, it’s such a genius deconstruction of an entire era, plus it's a great comedy. The hairstyles alone? Iconic. And the endless supply of "deep" philosophy... everything is just perfect. The acting is spot on, the script is hilarious... everything. I guess I'm just bummed I'm twenty years late to seeing this masterpiece, but it was totally worth catching this absolute cult classic...

The concept? Brilliant. The execution? Absolutely top-tier! But the humor? Man, it just doesn't land for me at all.

I don't know, I was just checking IMDb and saw that Christopher Guest directed this one too, and apparently, it’s all about parodying folk bands. I guess it's hard to say... do you think it actually holds up as well as This Is Spinal Tap, or is it just kind of a cheap imitation?

I haven't caught it yet, though I hear the reviews were pretty lackluster. That said, Best in Show is absolutely hilarious.

I guess that *This Is Spinal Tap* DVD is easily one of the best-equipped releases I’ve ever owned. There is just a massive amount of bonus content on there. That scene where they finally hit the stage—singing about those banshees—and their "monumental" set starts collapsing right in front of them? It’s absolutely hilarious. 🙂 A Mighty Wind is kind of a drag, I guess. Except for that one part with Fore, you know, when they end up performing the song they actually wanted to sing. 😁

Actually, it actually pulled in some pretty decent reviews. For me personally, though, it didn't quite hit the mark—it felt a little too good hearted to really land that sharp, biting satirical punch.
...but you can't deny the acting is top-notch, and the soundtrack and live performances are just fantastic.

it's kind of like a parody of how bands like Sabbath used to have these huge, over-the-top stage setups that made it almost impossible to actually perform... 😁

but for me, my favorite part has to be when that little Stonehenge stone comes down and those two dwarves start dancing around it. 😂

those lyrics are pretty intense, too;

Stonehenge where the demons dwell, where the banshees live and they do live well.... 🙂

Apparently, some huge Iron Maiden fans walked out during the premiere because they were convinced the movie was just some cheap parody of their band. 🤣

I guess that movie could honestly be seen as a parody of half the bands out there from that late '70s and early '80s era. Those guys with the long hair and stuff... maybe even a little nod to "Land of the Ice and Snow."🙂

Hair metal versus glam metal — you know, those eras when bands clearly spent way more time perfecting their hairspray technique than actually writing songs.

...I have to admit, 'Eleven' is a classic, but the more I watch this one, the more I love it... specifically that part where they run into that other star at the hotel and talk to their manager, and he just says:

"Listen we'd love to stand around and chat but we've got to sit down in the lobby and wait for the limo."

Back in 2002, this movie was officially recognized as being 'culturally significant' and added to the National Film Registry. 🤣

Honestly, ever since I first watched This Is Spinal Tap, I can't watch just about any hard rock or metal band without bursting out laughing.
