But I still suspect that maybe

the film captures something about Hearst that Citizen Kane missed: the sheer thrill of wielding absolute control over the police, the courts, and everything in between. It shows a man who settles his private vendettas through orchestrated murders right in front of TV cameras—using the law as his personal hit squad, all while his public reputation actually improves.

On the other hand, one has to wonder if that entire 1970s craze was manufactured just to pump up stock prices and drive up circulation.
