Kitty said:Otherwise, what kind of operator training course are you even taking if you don't need Word? 🤔

Look, we use Word, Excel, and Access at work, but I haven't had any use for Word at home until now. I suppose I'll just go ahead and install it.👋

Oh, my fellow tech geeks, you guys are the best! 😍

Good grief, if I could have knocked out my entire high school thesis using nothing but Write on Windows 3.0, then why on earth wouldn't WordPad be plenty to whip up a quick agenda for a PTA meeting?

Yet here you all are, cheering on piracy and breaking the law. Honestly, I hope the BSA comes knocking to bless your computers!

For God's sake, if I could pull off my high school thesis using Write on Windows 3.0, then I don't see why WordPad isn't good enough to type up a grocery list for the family meeting...

And here you all are, championing piracy and breaking the law. I hope the BSA comes knocking on your door to bless your computers.

If copying is piracy, then what the hell is cloning? 🙂
Anyway, I trust my wife will just go out and buy a legitimate license.

If you want to understand how things actually work here, you'll probably have to re-read my post a hundred times.

Lying and teaching people the wrong way isn't exactly a great look. Maybe you think it’s funny to laugh at them later, but we haven't seen this kind of behavior around here before.

If you're going to post something, at least try to be accurate.

Now you're accusing me of lying, too? That's easy for you to say since we both know exactly what MS-DOS is and why I phrased it as:
"this... is what DOS looked like"
instead of
"that is DOS"

Go get some sleep. You passed the test...

Listen, I finally got that Office installed. Since I'm still running Windows 98, I had to go with Office 97, which means I'm missing just about everything—no icons, no charts, nothing. Honestly, though, it doesn't matter to me. I am perfectly satisfied with what I have right now!👋

Honestly, you guys have given me a good laugh—no offense intended, of course.

There really is no substitute for a classic forum😁

That sounds rough... 😛
Enjoy it while it lasts! 😉

😕 Well, Office 97 actually does include all those features. In fact, the clipart looks better than it does in Windows XP, maybe.

So how exactly does that work? Someone please explain this to me immediately.

So how exactly does one manage that? Please, provide some clarity.

Jessica Taylor69 said:So how do I actually do that? Help me out here?

It was ages ago—I don't remember the exact steps. But I think it’s tucked away under "Insert" somewhere.
I'll have to check, though—I still have an old machine at the office running Windows 95 and Office 97 lying around.

What on earth is that???????????????😕

Vajlda was talking about that license you got bundled with Office 🙄
Yeah, I actually prefer Office 97 over Office XP, even if everyone claims Office XP is better. Honestly, a basic text editor is plenty for me when I need to draft a work plan. Back when I finished high school, Windows 95 wasn't even out yet, and I graduated right around then too.😁
