Honestly, you can just go in and delete the Windows, Program Files, and Users folders from that second installation... just be careful not to touch anything you might actually need later! You should also clear out hiberfil.sys and pagefile.sys from that specific setup. Once that's done, pull up the C:\Boot.ini file,
timeout set it to
0 and make sure
default points to the installation you're keeping (if you're okay with hitting Enter or waiting a few seconds when the computer boots up, you don't even have to mess with the default setting). Finally, you can clean up the extra entries in the
operating systems section of the Boot.ini, but only do that once you're absolutely certain everything is working right and your default is correct... because if you mess up, you might delete the very thing you're trying to boot into.
Can I just delete everything on that partition, or am I stuck formatting the whole drive and starting over from scratch?
No, you don't need to do anything crazy like that, and definitely don't format the drive. Just follow what I mentioned before... nothing too complicated.
