Best ocean movies?

So, IBM was back on TV the other day and everyone started losing their minds over whether it’s actually any good or not 😉 plus summer is right around the corner... so I’m curious, what movies give you those summer vibes? You know, the ones that make you think of vacation, the coast, and just chilling out...

For me, it's gotta be Blue Summer and Mediterraneo... honestly, maybe even The Big Wave too...

Personally, I’d go with The Beach, followed by Jaws 😱 if you ask me, that would pretty much cover it 😁 .

After watching Jaws, I'm officially done with the ocean and any thoughts of summer vacations. Why, dear Lastane, why? 😬

😁 I mean, I get that, but I can't really help myself. It just triggers those specific memories of the ocean, and whenever I find myself out in the water swimming, my mind drifts right back to it 😠 and honestly, it’s enough to make me want to skip the whole beach trip altogether.

When I think about cinema set on the ocean, I find myself returning to nothing else but Das Boot. Is there truly any other film that captures it quite like that?

It’s definitely a documentary titled "The American Brick," though I suspect that isn't quite what people had in mind.

Shout out to all my fellow surfers out there. Honestly, I can barely stomach the absolute garbage they try to pass off as "surfing movies" lately—if the acting is trash or the director clearly has no clue what it’s actually like to be out in the water, I’m out.

I mean, I'll watch pretty much anything if it hits right... even those weirdly intense scenes where people are just tearing it up (you know, without any cars involved).

Look, let's get one thing straight—we’re talking movies here, not TV shows. The list above specifically says films. Honestly? I haven't even managed to sit through a single sequel to Baywatch from start to finish. It's just... ugh. And don't even get me started on the acting (ha, yeah, "acting"). Those actors really ought to be out there actually surfing themselves instead of letting stunt doubles do all the heavy lifting. 😁
