Orlando Bloom

It feels like this one young actor is suddenly everywhere you look... He’s doing less work on The Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean lately, and instead, he seems focused on Troy. What’s the consensus here?
Is it actually the same level of talent, or is it just all flash and no substance?

Personally, I’ve always felt he has that kind of presence, almost like Leonardo DiCaprio... as for Troy, I suppose it might just be another one of those overhyped action flicks that doesn't exactly scream quality to me.

OH MY GOSH, how exciting! I actually caught a glimpse of the trailer today, and honestly, even Troy looks absolutely stunning...

Does anyone else feel like that moment in Pirates of the Caribbean between Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp felt like the "start of a beautiful friendship"? They just sort of drifted off together into the sunset... honestly, how romantic 🙂

He’s a charming guy, I'll give him that. But as far as acting goes? He feels more like a character actor suited for smaller roles. In The Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean, Depp completely stole the show from him.

Honestly, such a terrible actor. I’ve always had a bit of a grudge against those "trained" actors—you know, the ones who lack any actual natural talent.

I don't really have an opinion on him. ☕

He basically owes his fame to The Lord of the Rings!
The guy’s got potential... but... if you ask me... he's kind of stuck playing the "good boy" type every single time.

As far as I know, yeah, pretty much.

He’s incredibly handsome, truly.😍 But he just doesn't have any acting chops.
I really hope he's a one-hit wonder, so maybe he'll finally stop "acting."😠

I don't think he can't act. It's more like he keeps getting stuck in roles where there's zero room to actually show any range. Most of his parts are just these quiet, stoic types where most of the work is just physical presence and body language. He nailed Legolas, though... I haven't seen anything else with him where he actually gets to drive the plot besides The Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean or Troy. Not that I'm a huge fan or anything, but he's not really the kind of actor you'd call "bad" at his job.

So, I was just catching that last Pirates of the Caribbean movie, and man... The Other Side...
His role is honestly so overshadowed, you know? Like, he ends up having this huge impact by the end of the film, but even then, I feel like he’s still kind of lost in the shadow of everyone else... Or maybe that's just me being weird about it? 😕

To guy is just endlessly bland to me. Setting aside his looks or how he acts, he’s just empty. There's zero charisma, zero depth. Maybe it isn't even his fault—maybe it's just the roles he picks—but the reality is that any decent actor brings a little bit of their own soul to a part. He just stays the same, totally featureless, no matter what. All that good looks 😢

Legolas is one of those pure, hollow characters—just all white and glowing. To me, he works perfectly as Legolas. Honestly, maybe the best character in Lord of the Rings besides Gollum. He brought something to it 😉

Yeah, I'm with you there. There are just way too many actors involved, and it feels like they were trying to cram as many scenes as possible into the runtime, which honestly doesn't leave much room for the cast to actually show what they can do.
As for Legolas... man, I really don't want to say anything about him because I know I can't be objective about it, so I'll just stay quiet. To me, Lord of the Rings is just something special 😁 😬

Okay, so what? You watched one single movie of his and decided he’s somehow above criticism when it comes to acting.🤣 Personally, I feel like I've seen pretty much everything they've done, and my takeaway is that Orlando basically has maybe three or four facial expressions that he uses to pass for actual acting, and that's about it.🤣 It's the exact same story with Keanu Reeves.🤣
That doesn't mean I don't enjoy watching them, though... far from it.😍
