Kevin Wood22 said:Finally caught what Crystal blurted out after that Errol Morris speech.

"Can't wait for his tax audit."

😂

Yeah, because the guy actually had the nerve to compare this mess in Iraq to Vietnam. He basically said back in '72 the USA went down a rabbit hole—you know, like Alice in Wonderland—and we're heading down that same hole right now. Dude made a war documentary, turns out it's a hit piece on the war and Bush, so naturally, he's gonna get hit with a government audit.

I don't think so,

Kevin Wood22 said:THE RETURN OF THE... HOST

I’M YOUR MASTER AND COMMANDER FOR THE NIGHT

THE OSCARS ARE BEING BROADCAST IN 56 LANGUAGES... AND THAT'S JUST IN THE LOS ANGELES AREA.

For the first time ever, they're doing a simulcast in Aramaic.

It's pretty much standard to tip the host, I guess.

Miss Theron, you really scared the Jesus out of Mel Gibson in that movie of yours.

Back when I was getting things started with the Oscars about 13 years ago, George W. Bush was President. The economy was a mess and we were just coming out of the war in Iraq. It's kind of scary, isn't it?

Johnny Depp—the sexiest man alive (I can't believe I actually said that).

Lord of the Rings: 11 nominations, one for every possible ending, maybe.

Lost in Translation: Governor Schwarzenegger's favorite movie.

Sofia Coppola shot her film in 27 days. It took Francis that long just to wake up Brando, I think.

...or else I'll find Seasbitscuit's head in my bed.

(Singing to a James Bond tune) Seabiscuit, he's a horse, a Kentucky horse that the Oscars might take, or he's just glue.

It feels good to be back after four years. The Academy was decent enough letting me come and go—sort of like the Texas National Guard, I suppose.

Robin Williams—the reason there's a five-second broadcast delay (Robin showing his left "boob").

A San Francisco wedding cake (Robin Williams & B. Crystal holding hands).

Kill Bill—Hillary Clinton's favorite movie.
21 Grams—Whitney Houston & Bobby Brown's favorite movie.
Confessions of a Dangerous Man—Donald Rumsfeld's favorite movie.

Jesus, did you transcribe this while the show was actually on??? 😂
You did a good job picking that up, I guess.

Nice catch.

Yeah, I dug it. Guy’s got a wicked tongue, solid sense of humor, and he played the host perfectly.!!!

And all that was possible because CNN didn't butcher the vibe with some stupid, delayed subtitles that would've missed the actual jokes anyway.

Honestly, B. Crystal was the best part of the Oscar!!!

Just rewatched it...
...the 2011 nominations for Lord of the Rings... one for every single possible ending.😁

He was excellent. I honestly don't get why they didn't just have him tell jokes during those incredibly stupid breaks every fifteen minutes. We were all basically dying of boredom back then. You couldn't even nap, but you couldn't really focus either...
well, look, I won't go into all the details right now. 😁

Adam Wright56 said:Yeah, well... that sketch with Robin Williams. 🙏

I can't quite wrap my head around it at this exact moment, but did Robin ever actually host the Oscars??

Those two🙏 🙏
wouldn't have dared to pull something like that on Williams—he’s just too wild and unpredictable for those kinds of high-stakes ceremonies. Billy knows where the line is, whereas Williams tends to get caught up in the momentum and might end up taking a cheap shot at the old guard sitting in the front row.
By the way, one of my favorite things back in the day was watching him and Billy alongside Whoopi—the three of them spent years hosting Comic Relief for the homeless🙏 🙏 🙏 (which was how they raised all that money for them)

I'm with you on that...

Honestly, Robin is just too high-octane to run something like this alone... plus, he's got that "man-child" vibe going on, like he always says, being "a child trapped in a grown man's body."

But man, he’s such a great duo with Billy... it’s almost like Billy is the one keeping him on a leash. 😁

I was always such a sucker for those old musical numbers—there was something about that "Do-Re-Mi" song from *The Sound of Music* that just hit differently. He actually took a moment to look toward Julie Andrews, offered her a sort of preemptive apology, and then just started singing his heart out...😁
