Sead Memic Vajt! I was only twelve back then. His lyrics hit me instantly... total life-changing stuff for someone my age at the time.
Metal wasn't really a "thing" yet, but I know that music would've hooked me immediately. There were other greats, sure—maybe even Judas—but getting to them felt out of reach.

Just Vajt. He looked like the quintessential metalhead with that wild hair and beard, even if his sound was a bit more mellow. Man... you guys have no idea how lucky you are to have all this modern metal and Soulfly now... seriously... back then, there was only one—Sead Memic Vajt.

Man, Vajt was truly something else... I remember being obsessed with his track "Valentina," and that one song where the lyrics go on and on about reaching the sea. It took me forever to realize why my mom used to get so annoyed whenever I sang along to it.

Nirvana releasing 'Bleach'... man, when I first heard 'Love Buzz'... that was just everything. It was the absolute peak. Even today, whenever that track comes on, I get full-on goosebumps. Just pure emotion... brrrr.

Hmm... I suppose I could say Guns N' Roses from the late '80s or early '90s, but honestly, I was just a kid back then, mostly just absorbing whatever my surroundings were playing.🙂
If we're talking about a group that I genuinely gravitated toward on my own, without anyone feeding me suggestions, I’d have to go with the Beastie Boys. Once I stumbled upon them somewhere around '92 or '93, I was absolutely hooked; they ended up being my absolute favorite band for a very long time.👍
