Sometimes when I say "everyone," I don't mean literally every single soul on the planet—so don't go calling me out for generalizing. If I actually meant *everybody*, I would have used ALL CAPS (which is something you NEVER do), or underlined it, or said something like "literally everyone..." In my context, "everyone" just means the vast majority. You also completely ignored the part of my response where I mentioned they were listening and will continue to listen, which makes my use of "everyone" even more obvious. Sure, there’s a bit of intentional sarcasm involved here, but it would be pretty ridiculous to claim I’m glorifying trash at any cost. That isn't my style, obviously, but hey, it’s not the end of the world either. Personally, based on my own taste, I don't listen to whatever the masses are blasting; I have my limits too. Besides, defining what counts as "trash" is a pretty thankless task... (generally speaking, we could probably agree that artists like Elvis Presley, Thompson, Kovač, Magazine, or Fossil fall into that category. Or maybe the Four Aces, certain country singers, and I won't even get started on foreign acts). By some criteria, you could toss almost all mainstream pop into the same bucket—those little 3-to-5 minute songs with the predictable Verse-Chorus-Bridge structure designed for mass commercial consumption. Under that logic, no genre would be exempt, not even the "sacred cows." Even "alternative" or "progressive" stuff might end up in the same bin... (is this déjà vu?
