It was actually quite alright.
I don't usually listen to this kind of stuff, so it was an interesting experience for me. I enjoyed everything they played, but there were two things that really stood out—I can't quite put my finger on them—somewhere between that bland, "oh woe is me" vibe you hear in some parts of Vegas and this sudden, loud burst of energy with heavy distortion during a few of the faster tracks. It was like a middle ground, a sort of crazed "happy blues" mixed with bits of country and that old-school boom-chicka-boom sound. So... I don't know... the music was good. Not David Bowie good, but good. 😬 I'm definitely going to grab a copy for my car; it’s perfect driving music.
That "dancing kid" guy? Total drunk idiot. Honestly, someone should have hit him with a flamethrower.
The guitarist, who looked just like Elvis Presley, was—well, yeah, at times he was incredibly pretentious and exhausting. But overall, he played most of it okay and fairly accurately.
As for me, the bassist was absolutely awesome. He might have been a little pretentious too, but compared to the guitarist, he was as humble as Francis of Assisi. I think the violinist was actually the most professional one; my girlfriend especially loved his stage presence and how composed he stayed.
