Hey everyone. So, I’ve got this absolutely nightmare-level problem. Is it my hair or my head? Honestly, let's just say my head—it stinks. Like, seriously. I shower every single day, scrubbing both my hair and my body, but literally just a few hours after I dry off, my head starts smelling again. And the crazy part? I haven't even broken a sweat. It’s driving me freaking insane and honestly, it’s given me major social anxiety. I’ve always had oily skin—forehead, nose, those areas next to my nostrils—so I’m wondering if that’s the culprit? Maybe my scalp is just as greasy as my face and that's where the stench is coming from? This whole thing started maybe 6 or 7 months ago; before that, never. My face has been oily since puberty, but the smell is new. I’ve tried every shampoo under the sun, but nothing works. That specific, gross smell just keeps coming back. Also, whenever my face gets oily, I have to wipe it away with my fingers because it's so uncomfortable, and I've noticed even that facial oil has a weird scent—almost identical to the smell coming from my hair... Plus, the skin around my nose is constantly red!!! Please, people, help me out here because this stuff is totally killing my chances of ever finding a girlfriend... Oh, and yeah, I did see a dermatologist once about the oily skin, and they gave me this Dercome clear suspension. I was supposed to apply it morning and night, which I did for about a week or two, but it didn't do squat. All it did was dry my skin out so much it felt tight, like I couldn't even smile without feeling it. My eyebrows are peeling too, and little white flakes fall out of my hair whenever I rub it, even though when I stare at my scalp in the mirror, it doesn't even look like I have dandruff; it looks pretty normal. Anyway, I listed all these things that are UTTERLY torturing me, so please, help! One more thing—for about a year now, my liver area has been hurting. Like, intensely. It settles down, then flares up again, especially when I've been sitting for a long time or when I lie on my left side. Could this possibly be related to my liver? Haha, who knows... also, when I take a deep breath, I feel this discomfort on my right side under the ribs, almost like there's a stone stuck there.

Maybe aggressive shampoos aren't actually the move here.

I’d suggest grabbing the Receptov shampoo for oily hair and dandruff from Subrina. It’s the one with the orange label on it. Probably costs around five bucks at most.
The ingredients are pretty much on par with some of those high-end luxury brands—like that one Swiss brand that’s actually $50 for issues just like yours. You can even use it on your face or body if you feel like it.
And honestly, don't sweat the fact that it says it's for dandruff; it's the formula that matters.

Receptov shampoo for oily hair

I know plenty of guys who swear by this stuff; all the men in my family use it exclusively. I think it might actually help with any odor issues too, in a more natural way.

Also, start drinking nettle tea and applying some nettle tincture to your scalp. You can easily make your own using some vodka and fresh nettle plants. Nettle helps lower those androgens that cause the whole mess in the first place.

People also say garlic juice works wonders—just rub it onto your scalp before you wash.

When you're washing, try massaging your scalp really well to get all that excess oil loosened up and washed away.

It’s also huge to stay active and work up a sweat so your skin and internal glands actually get some circulation going. If you’re carrying extra weight, getting back to a healthy range usually helps balance out your hormones.

They say the liver doesn't hurt, but I personally think it can, based on what I've seen.
Go get some blood work done and an ultrasound. It could be anything—thyroid, gallbladder, liver, kidneys, stomach... all of it can trigger skin problems. If there's actual pain, something is definitely up.

And watch what you eat. Eat clean and cut out the fast food. Food is either your medicine or your path to getting sick.

Look, you need to go see an internist for a serious evaluation. It’s highly probable that all these symptoms are actually part of the same underlying issue. You really need to have your liver, kidneys, and especially your adrenal glands thoroughly checked out. That system needs a deep dive to figure out what's actually going on.

Did you actually bring all this up with your dermatologist? Honestly, do a little digging on seborrheic dermatitis—this is giving me major vibes of that. Also, if you're dealing with abdominal pain, you really ought to get that checked out. How can you be so sure it’s specifically your liver?

If we’re actually dealing with an odor issue, then there's a very real chance it's coming from somewhere inside the body. A thorough checkup with an internist is absolutely non-negotiable here!

And honestly, how does a liver even "hurt"? I mean, if you can actually pinpoint liver pain just by sensation, you must be some kind of medical prodigy. I’ve had my fair share of liver trouble—I’ve been hospitalized, undergone surgery, the whole nine yards—and even I can’t tell you how a liver "hurts." In my experience, liver issues don't present themselves as localized pain; instead, they manifest as a long, exhausting string of other systemic problems.

I stumbled onto your post while doing some digging online... and man, it’s like you’re reading my mind. The symptoms, the life struggles—it is literally everything I went through when I first posted here. Have you managed to get things under control yet? If you have, I would be incredibly grateful if you could share how you did it... let me know...
