I need this urgently, and it absolutely has to be compatible with Windows XP.

If anyone happens to have a working download link, I would be extremely grateful.

I assume WinFax 10 should run fine on Windows XP. I wouldn't be sure, though. I don't even own a modem, let alone an XP machine.

If you want, hit me up on AOL Instant Messenger and I'll give you my FTP login so you can download it (35 Mb).

WinFax comes bundled with Norton SystemWorks 2002 😉

Even within Windows XP, there are built-in utilities located under communications that you might eventually need to install for sending and receiving faxes.

Thanks, but 35 MB is quite a lot for me to download right now... besides, I usually hit my data cap within 15 days anyway... I'll just have to manage somehow.
Thanks again.

Could you please tell me exactly where it is located? I have searched through all of Norton SystemWorks 2002, and I cannot find anything resembling that.

Emily Brown7 said:Also, inside Windows XP, you have Program Manager, which you might need to install for sending and receiving faxes; it's located under communications.

Under communications, I only found an option for making phone calls, but nothing regarding sending faxes...
If you could provide a bit more detail, I would be grateful.

It won't be there if you didn't select it during the installation process; it's basically an optional add-on 😉. If you did select it, then you aren't fooling anyone

Look, guys... I’ve got one tiny little favor to ask... please stop posting direct download links to software...
Just point people toward the official websites or the actual download pages instead...
Thanks 😉

If anyone happens to know a reliable link where this might be available for download, I would be most sincerely grateful...

Perhaps you could attempt to locate it here www.amfsoftware.com

Great, but where were you four years ago when he actually needed this?

Bringing up a four-year-old thread now... 😵 🤣

Good grief, and here I was wondering how on earth Daniel Morales3 managed to edit Alex Wood40's post 🤣
I guess I shouldn't be surprised when I don't even bother checking the timestamps! 😁

I've attempted the installation a few times myself, but I can never seem to get it to stick. Honestly, I haven't the slightest clue what's going wrong—which is a real shame, as it would be incredibly useful. I recall the last time I tried, I couldn't even locate the fax service on my Windows CD.

A couple of attempts ago (though I can't quite remember if I was running Windows XP at the time), I actually managed to install the fax software, but it just wouldn't send anything—no idea why.

Does anyone happen to know how to install that WinFax service—or whatever the exact name is—straight from the CD? I mean, I think I know the drill, but it just isn't working for me. Does anyone remember where that specific file is located on the Windows XP disc?

I went ahead and installed the fax service along with that Mighty Fax program.

Whenever I'm connected to my ISP—let's say Comcast—I run into this error message when I attempt to send a fax:

Error opening modem with TAPI

There was a problem opening the modem for use. Make sure no other programs are using the modem, and try again.

On the flip side, if I'm not connected via the modem (honestly, I'm not even sure if I need to be), it just tells me "No dial tone."

Any idea what's going on here??

Try disabling the "wait for dial tone" option in your modem settings. If I had to guess, that's likely where the issue lies.

Just a heads-up though: you won't be able to send anything if your modem is already online; the line will just show as busy.😬

Maybe you could just tell me which modem you're running—I can't exactly read your mind here—but honestly, I’d bet anything the manual tells you exactly where you can plug it in. 👍
Since you already went through the trouble of installing it, why not just try using the FedEx tool built into macOS instead of that Marvel whatever-it-is...
