You have Freddie Mercury, arguably one of the greatest vocalists to ever grace a stage, paired with Brian May, who stands as one of the most iconic guitarists in history. To my mind, Queen’s album The Miracle remains one of their absolute finest works. 🙏 🙏 🙏... honestly, they remain one of the greatest bands of all time. 🙂

Give me a break. Don't come talking trash about legendary bands until you've actually grown up.

I’m honestly torn on their absolute best track, like, it's a toss-up between Bohemian Rhapsody, Innuendo, Fat Bottomed Girls, or Tie your mother down. I basically grew up on this stuff and I guess it turned me into a bit of a nutcase, but whatever... Queen is just incredible. 😘

The entire Innuendo album is absolute perfection... it’s just a damn shame a man has to pass away just to leave behind a masterpiece like that🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏

What you're saying is true, I guess, there's definitely something to that. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have put that much effort into the album, especially the title track, if they didn't know it was their last one—well, second to last... personally, it's my favorite album, even though most people say it gets on their nerves because it's too theatrical... I don't agree at all. 🙂

Whatever happens, it’s never going to be the same old Queen again... Queen was Freddie Mercury. They can remix, rework, and release all those unfinished tracks he left behind to fill out albums, but it just won't ever hit the same. And don't even get me started—if Brian May puts together some new track... without that Freddie Mercury voice, it's all just hollow.

I don't totally agree with you there. I mean, Paul Rodgers is an incredible singer, and him joining the band doesn't necessarily mean they're gonna suck—it just means they’ll definitely sound different. I get it, Freddie was one of a kind, and honestly, his whole eccentric vibe made him special, but I guess judging the group as being doomed just because he's gone is a bit silly. Especially since there were still three other absolute legends in the band with him. Plus, if I'm being real, I've always been more into the stuff Brian May wrote, and even Taylor-esque tracks like Innuendo. And yeah, you read that right—Taylor-esque. A lot of people assume that because of the subject matter, only Freddie could have written a song like that, but I don't know, maybe not.

Absolutely... I mean, seriously, no one like Paul Rodgers could ever live up to Freddie. I hated the whole concept from the jump—this idea of touring with that guy? No thanks. Honestly, I'm just glad John Deacon stayed out of it, because once you lose that core, the magic is gone.

Since we can't catch Queen performing live anymore, everyone needs to go see the incredible "We Will Rock You" musical on Broadway!

... and they’re still getting massive radio play. They’re still pulling in waves of new, young fans, and those albums? Still selling like crazy. Plus, anytime any former member of Queen steps onto a stage, they basically hijack the entire show.

There isn't much point in talking about it. Everything worth saying about Queen has already been said, and honestly, even while sitting idly by, they just keep proving everyone right day after day.

Late fall turns to winter
The skies are glowing bright, oh
Seagulls are soaring overhead
Swans drift slowly by
Smoke rises from the chimneys
Dreaming
Dreaming...?

The Night Comes
A smooth moon hangs in the sky, yeah
Kids are lost in their fantasies
While adults just stand by
Such an incredible sensation
Dreaming
Dreaming...?
Queen

(Dreaming) So quiet and peaceful
(Dreaming) Tranquil and blissful
(Dreaming) Bohemian Rhapsody
(Dreaming) Bohemian Rhapsody
(Dreaming) A breathtaking scene
With the dreams of the world
In the palm of your hand

(Dreaming) A cozy chat by the fire
(Dreaming) Just a little bit of this and that
(Dreaming) Sounds of happy laughter passing by
(Dreaming) Soft rain hitting my face
(Dreaming) What an extraordinary place!
And the dream of the child
Is the hope of the, hope of the man

It's all so beautiful
Like a landscape painting in the sky, yeah
Bohemian Rhapsody
Little girls scream and cry
My world is spinning and spinning and spinning
It's unbelievable
Makes me reel
Dreaming
Dreaming...?

Oooh - it's pure bliss
👍

Innuendo, I want it all, The Show Must Go On, Bohemian Rhapsody, We Are The Champions, Fat Bottomed Girls, Hammer to fall....
Personally... yeah, I know they're the most overplayed tracks out there, but they're also the absolute best. Every time I listen, I catch something new, but it just hits different when you're over it after a few spins...

I get that Freddie was a one-of-a-kind musician, partly because of his eccentricity, but writing off the group as a failure just because he's gone is pretty foolish. There are still three world-class musicians left in the lineup. Besides, I've always been more into the tracks written by Brian May, and also Taylor-esque ˝Innuendo˝. Yeah, you read that right: Taylor-esque. Because a lot of people assume the subject matter means only Freddie could have written it.

Did you even know that "The Show Must Go On" was written by May?
To me, that song was May's final gift to Freddie Mercury.

Linda Taylor11 said:I don't totally see eye to eye with you on this one. Look, Paul Rodgers is an incredible singer—no doubt about it—and him joining the lineup doesn't mean they’re going to suck. It just means things are going to sound different, plain and simple. I get it, Freddie was one of a kind. He had that specific spark, that eccentricity that just made him who he was, but honestly? Writing off the whole band just because he isn't there feels a bit silly to me. I mean, they still have three absolute legends backing them up. Plus, if we're being real, I’ve always leaned more toward the tracks written by Brian May, and even Taylor-esque stuff like Innuendo. Yeah, you read that right—Taylor-esque. A lot of people assume that because of the subject matter, only Freddie could have penned a song like that, but that's just not the case.

I only partially agree with you on this one... Look, I absolutely adore Queen. I can tell you exactly which tracks were written by Brian May and which ones belong to Freddie Mercury, no problem. But when you’ve spent twenty years devoted to a single band led by a frontman who left us far too soon, everything else just feels like a watered-down imitation to me. If Queen had been formed with P.R., maybe I would have felt that same connection, but given how things turned out, I think I'll just stay loyal to that classic, original Queen in my heart. That nostalgia hits different.
If they ever decide to tour the States or even just play somewhere nearby, I’m absolutely going. I’ll be there, hands down. But let's be real—it just won't be the same. For me? It never will be. To tell you the truth, I actually preferred listening to Freddie Mercury solo over hearing Queen without Freddie Mercury. That's just how it is.

I mean, personally, I feel like that track was basically the final gift May gave to Freddie Mercury.

I didn't know—well, actually, I already knew. 😘 May was going through some seriously heavy stuff when he was writing that song (his dad passed away, his marriage was falling apart, and even the future of the career with Queen was looking super shaky), and he’s said himself that The Show Must Go On was just his way of reacting to all the crap hitting him at the time. And somehow, buried in all that, there's this tribute to his longtime friend and teammate Freddie Mercury. Kind of beautiful, isn't it?

Queen is hands down the greatest band on the planet. Freddie was a straight-up genius with a voice that nobody is ever going to top. It’s such a damn shame he’s not still with us, but their music is timeless. Honestly, just watch Live Aid or the Wembley concert and you'll see exactly what I mean!

Queen forever!

And somewhere in the middle of all that, there's this tribute to his dear friend and longtime bandmate Freddie Mercury. Pretty heavy, right?

I'm with you. They clashed more than anyone else in the studio, but honestly, those arguments were usually where their best tracks came from.
To me, this band is something truly special—more than just a group or just music. I grew up listening to them, and yet I keep coming back to them constantly. There's just something about them that nobody else has, at least not in my book—they really have zero competition.
When I listen to Queen, I don't know about you guys, but I can practically feel the intelligence dripping out of their songs. From the most subtle notes to the powerhouse lyrics.
It’s no surprise, really; they're probably the only massive band where every single member actually went to college. 👍

The Show must go on!
The Show must go on! Yeah!
Ooh! Inside my heart is breaking!
My make-up may be flaking!
But my smile, still, stays on!

Man, this hits so hard because it's just so true... Thank you for everything, Queen!

It isn't just the intelligence factor, though; they also have a damn good sense of humor. Just look at "Fat Bottomed Girls"🤣[/QUOTE]
