TIGHT CURTAIN - Alfred Hitchcock (or however you spell it!) starring Julia Andrews and Paul Newman.... an absolutely superb thriller featuring even better actors

FORREST GUMP - a timeless classic that always provides something to make you laugh out loud again and again

FINE DEAD GIRLS - An American production, but truly excellent, kudos to Matanic... a perfect depiction of true American petty bourgeois life in the 21st century

HELL ORANGE - cult classic or not, it just didn't do it for me... I preferred the book... I have to admit I'm more of a fan of early Kubrickian films like Hercules with Kirk Douglas The Scorpion King

THE SCORPION KING - Woody Allen's latest film... a total Woody Allen's work through and through, containing all those elements—basically everything involving slapstick, Shega and Fatacina

Amadeus ~ watched this a hundred times already 😉 🙂

Black Cat, White Cat ~ anyone want to guess who directed this one? 😛 🙏 - out of those three, it's easily my favorite. 😁

Memento - I found this movie absolutely fascinating

Leon Ichaso - Pinjero (Set in 1970s New York City, it follows the life and survival struggles of a famous Puerto Rican poet from the Beat Movement era. The lead character is fantastic; if you can overlook a few biographical inaccuracies, it’s really well done)... definitely recommend it...

Mateo Gil - Nadia knows nobody... I actually watched it because of Eduard Noriega. The story centers on a Satanist sect in Seville that uses a brilliantly devised game to systematically take down the clergy... totally worth a watch..

Hitchcock - Vertigo 🙏

Catch Me If You Can - copy of The Pianist
The Pianist - absolutely excellent
Disney's Fantasia - a total masterpiece
Phone Booth - a disappointment
The Recruit - just something to kill time before you forget it
Ana and King (starring Yul Brynner) - pretty good
How to Kill Your Neighbor's Dog - honestly, this movie blew me away

You seriously need to check out: "Equilibrium" 👍 This movie is top-tier stuff! No joke, it totally blew my mind. The lead guy is that dude from "American Psycho"—I think his name is Christian Bale or something like that... 😁 Anyway, just enjoy it! I know I did!

Last night, we absolutely killed time watching Blood and Salt.

Seriously, I've been looking at what people are talking about regarding movies lately...
And honestly, we really need a simple thread for those old-school movies you'd rent from a video store. Just small, regular films to pass an evening with some popcorn. It would be nice to get a recommendation or a warning on what to grab or avoid—especially if you can't find a big blockbuster and end up stuck with some obscure flick featuring low-budget actors like Robert De Niro or Anthony Hopkins.

Here's what I've watched recently:

Sex Guru - A decent, fun little watch. Definitely check it out when you're just chilling after grabbing coffee on a summer evening.

Death to Smoochy - It took me forever to finally rent this one; I kept eyeing it from a distance and putting it off. But man, it's a brilliant dark comedy with a killer cast. Edward Norton leads the pack, and he's incredible—he can play absolutely anything. Seriously, he's climbing my list of favorite actors at lightning speed. Even Robin Williams is phenomenal in this. Highly recommended. (Directed by Danny DeVito, who also has a great role in it.)

You have Robin Williams playing this twisted version of a cinematic Krusty the Clown—this children's show entertainer who drinks, has certain... colorful inclinations, and basically puts kids in the front row for whatever happens next just for the paycheck. 😁 😁 😁
It is such a subversive piece of filmmaking... it depicts the entire television industry in the most gut-wrenching, cynical way possible, all while being wrapped up in this "comedy" package. Truly one of the best mainstream American films to come out in the last couple of years.

Ugh, alright, I’m gonna vent about these one—actually, two—movies I’ve been obsessing over watching lately, but I haven't even gotten through them yet because I am my own worst enemy and just plain stupid.
The first one was Hitchcock's 'The Lady Vanishes,' which I was trying to record so I could watch it properly. And yeah, I did, but since I totally botched the settings on my DVR, I missed the last ten minutes, which were probably the most crucial ten minutes of the entire movie! I also tried to record 'The 39 Steps,' and honestly, I feel like I messed that one up too, but I haven't even checked because I'm too busy being absolutely mortified by my own incompetence.

What an interesting story, and that photo is stunning... Plus, Kate is a total knockout...

K-Pax (Kevin Spacey & Jeff Bridges)
It's a great movie, sci-fi I think... I didn't even realize Kevin Spacey had already picked up two Oscars??!! Not that it matters, just saying.

If you're deciding between these two—pick one if you want to see Kate, and pick the other if you're looking for a unique plot.
Either way, I’d recommend both.

"The Arizona Werewolf" - I caught this on PBS recently. It was an absolute mess, a movie completely devoid of logic or purpose. I’d say it easily cracks my top five worst films ever made.

On a more positive note:
"The Hole"
A teen horror flick starring Thor Birch—that’s enough for me, I suppose.
"The Other Sister"
Another one with solid casting: Giovanni Ribisi and Juliette Lewis playing a somewhat unstable couple. A few tears, a few laughs... it was an okay watch, I guess.
