I’ll go ahead and warn a few people now—if you already know what I’m looking for, feel free to just scroll past...
It seems the whole situation is clear: the film *Through the Never* has actually started showing up in American theaters.

At least, that’s what the official websites are claiming...
The folks over at Regal Cinemas, however, are insisting they aren't screening it—and won't be either.
Does anyone happen to know where or when it might actually be playing? 🙂

America is stuck in the gutter, both in Europe and globally. Honestly, I wouldn't even be surprised if they don't even show the movie here.

I don't quite grasp all the hype surrounding this movie, honestly. If you look at the comment sections on the Regal Cinemas Facebook pages, there are constantly five or so people asking when it’s finally going to be released, even though Regal Cinemas has stated repeatedly—like, a hundred times now—that no distributor has even offered them the rights to show it, so it won't be playing in their theaters.

So, basically, Metallica is just dropping more garbage, only they’ve slapped a different wrapper on it this time. 🙄

Well, I'm not entirely sure what part of that you're failing to grasp, but hey, feel free to stay blissfully confused if it makes you happy...

Anyway, mark my words: the film is going to be playing.

It’s a shame it won't be playing in IMAX—that would have been the way to actually experience it as a real concert. Otherwise, most of the Metallica fans who caught the film seemed pretty stoked.

I caught a screening at the local AMC Theatres tonight.

A meager 2/5 stars. Roughly 90% of this supposed "film" is nothing more than a concert replay. Despite how it was marketed, it was presented as a cinematic experience, which means there were much better ways to execute this project. It certainly didn't meet the standards I had anticipated.
It wasn't my intention, nor was it my desire, to sit through a glorified concert recording where the music takes center stage at the expense of everything else, yet that is precisely what happened. 🤷

Save your money and skip the ticket prices. Just wait until it hits streaming services at home... you won't be missing out on anything significant.

I’m with you on this one... I mean, seeing them tear it up on the big screen isn't exactly a bad way to spend an afternoon, but as far as the actual movie goes? It felt like they were building up this massive backstory just to pull the rug out from under us at the end. You walk away feeling like you didn't actually learn anything. The production value during the concert segments was top-tier, and man, watching them perform is intense, but the audio in the theater was surprisingly thin. Honestly, for a show like this, you want to feel like the speakers are going to blow out, not like you're listening through a tin can. It's a cool experience, sure, but I don't think I could survive a full viewing without seeing it live in person first.
