Let's keep it moving...

Any admin, mod, or super-mod can back me up when I say this entire PŽK crew has been mishandling things from day one. I’m not gonna sugarcoat it—too much was allowed to slide, and honestly, the administration has been playing games with everyone's heads. Not a single admin had the guts to step in, hand out warnings, or issue bans when they needed to. They let precedents set in that eventually became impossible to argue against, all while ignoring warnings that this was headed for a disaster. They only finally reacted once things hit the breaking point, and even then, they just set more bad precedents that created fresh headaches. And I’m not talking about stuff back at the start, but the mess that happened long after the admins should have known better.
Lastan, Byron, and the rest warned us plenty about the gaps in moderation, but yeah, they pushed it sometimes too far—if you ask me, they would've been slapped with warnings after just a few posts like that. Instead, they got off easy because, deep down, they were right about most things. Under this current leadership, the forum actually feels more user-focused. Everything stayed fine for a while, especially while the PŽK was getting flooded with praise for the new management style. But once the compliments dried up and the criticism started getting louder, suddenly neither Lastan nor Byron were "right" anymore. They got hit with warnings and bans, and the very thread meant to be a pillar of PŽK democracy? Locked tight.
Between all that and dealing with the IMF, I've been on this forum for 13 years. I spent half that time as a mod, so I think I've earned the right to say this is the most incompetent group of admins we've ever had. No authority, no expertise, no backbone, and to top it all off, they're being paid to do a job they're absolutely failing at.

If you ask me, Tyndalla and rustydrifter10 should be stripped of their admin roles immediately. We need to keep Strilet on the team because he actually provides quality oversight; sure, he might be a bit strict sometimes, but at least you can actually have a conversation with him. rustydrifter10 just doesn't have the right temperament—she’s way too overbearing, shuts down any real discussion, and constantly hands out penalties where an admin shouldn't even be getting involved. Let me remind everyone here: an admin is supposed to act as a supervisor for the moderators and oversee the overall health of the forum, not behave like a low-level moderator by handing out cards for things like spam, trolling, or off-topic posts, which I see happening all the time, often without any justification. On top of that, Tyndalla is basically useless when it comes to actually addressing user inquiries.

As far as I'm concerned, that question for administration thread should never have been closed. All those minor questions being asked were perfectly valid, and honestly, opening a whole separate topic just to deal with them was incredibly stupid, truly stupid.🤷

In all the years I have been following this community, I have never once—not even once—witnessed you or Striks peddling nonsense or falsehoods. That remains true even today.
It is truly a somber day for this forum when some of our most dedicated moderators and staff members depart. This is an issue that the owner of this platform should reflect upon more deeply, if not view it as a matter of significant consequence.
I sincerely hope that you will both return to shaping the editorial policy of this forum very soon, as that is an honor you have undeniably earned.
Now, I realize this isn't strictly on-topic, so I suppose a penalty is forthcoming, and while there is so much more I could say regarding the actual subject matter, I must adhere to the guidelines we are expected to follow "officially." Under normal circumstances, of course. Hmm...

The whole "bickering and handing out warnings" thing only ever happens exclusively when people start criticizing how the administration handles things—and lately, that's almost always been directed at you.
If you look at my profile, you can see the full history of your warnings issued there... and in every single one of those posts, there was criticism regarding your work.
The reason for the warnings is trolling, of course 🤣

There were times you’d delete stuff whenever you didn't like what people were saying to you, so the users revolted, and then you started handing out warnings to shut them down.
Then it turned out that even warnings wouldn't silence people from telling you what they thought about you and your job—so you started both issuing warnings and deleting posts.
When you realized that neither worked to stop the "backlash," you decided to just lock the thread.
You didn't lock the thread because you care about our warnings or bans; you did it because that way, all the dissatisfaction with you and your management gets concentrated in one spot—which just makes these "outbursts" happen more frequently.
So you decided to "thin them out" this way.

You weren't the one who opened the "question" threads; Anderson did, and that specific thread was meant to show a "new direction"... sure, time shows that direction has gone completely off the rails, especially with you running the show, but if he's the one who opened it, you can't just shut it down.
Basic professional etiquette tells you not to go "over the head" of your superior.

And that thread isn't a mess because of "malicious users"; it's a mess because of poor administration and the fact that you've completely lost your way (if you want my honest opinion).
I figured out your intention to lock the thread almost two weeks ago—as soon as you let a topic turn into a troll fest (and sometimes you even help it along), you're just clearing the field so you can write a post claiming everything has become unmanageable—that's your modus operandi.
I actually wrote that to you in the thread, and you quickly deleted it.
Just like how you gave me a warning last week and then deleted your own post, or the five attempts I made on the KSB to grab a screenshot of that post.
What are you so afraid of?

Look, I am not responsible for what other people decide to type out. I don't control anyone else's keyboard, and I certainly can't be held accountable just because certain individuals refuse to engage in even the most basic, civilized conversation.

I absolutely can, and I certainly am. Look, he originally opened up this platform specifically so he could address questions from our community after everything that went down here. Once he handed the reins over to Strilet and me, we were finally free to run things exactly how we thought was best—and honestly, I think what we’ve accomplished is exactly what needed to happen.

And when Sasha was let go, I resigned properly—not because of who I know, but because of how they handled it. It's the same reason I stood up for a fellow mod a few months ago over stuff that had nothing to do with his actual job. Plus, unlike most people around here, I'll say it straight: Nica is a bad admin.

No, it isn't pathetic when someone starts talking about a disastrous former administration even if they joined after that crew left or just a month after signing up. I'm pretty sure no admin ever bans someone just for having a low post count.

Sure, maybe not the previous ones. But that's not really what we're talking about here.

hollowmason64 said:Why don't you tell us how the former management would have handled things? Given how long you've been around here, I'm sure you know better than anyone. 🤣

I've never seen the community treated with such blatant disrespect. It feels like everyone's complaints and concerns are just being brushed aside—it's like everything we write here just gets dismissed without a second thought.

Come on, stop exaggerating; appeals actually get answered and things do get reviewed. If they were truly brushing everyone off, there wouldn't be any responses at all, and that's definitely not happening.

fadedsailor932 said:So, that’s how it works at the Admin of Nice. If I remember right, you basically rode to your admin spot on a wave of "user-friendly" promises (or maybe you were just selling that dream to Anderson?). Users first, right? Not the grumpy mods or admins. Just pure respect and decency for the regular folks. But after a few months of being this "wonderful, perfect, and fair" Admin of Nice, the backlash started hitting. Then came the losing of tempers, the deletions, the warnings... and finally, the grand finale: locking down the very thread that was supposed to be the heart of our democracy, run by the Admin of Nice and that other person. Yeah, the motive is obvious—it's easier to dilute criticism by splitting it into a dozen tiny threads rather than letting people vent in one place. Hmm... why didn't you just do that when the thread was still on your side and everyone was praising your "genius" moderation? It’s easy to take the compliments, but you’ve got to learn how to handle the heat. You guys are doing exactly what every forum that claims to "care about its users" does—shutting down any thread that dares to criticize. Maybe you should listen to Slavko and move the complaints out of the main section; clearly, they aren't welcome here anymore..

And hey... don't sweat our warnings or bans... it's pointless—because honestly, even you don't know why you're handing them out.

Look, I never said that the mods, SMs, or admins are "bad" people. There are all kinds of personalities in the admin team, just like there are all kinds of personalities among the users. At the end of the day, users *are* the priority, but remember that the admin staff are users too. When an appeal comes in, I look into it and make a call. Sometimes it goes in favor of the user, sometimes it doesn't. As for insults and provocations? I have absolutely no intention of wasting my time or energy on that, nor am I obligated to do so.

It looks like the main topic here is the question of why the questions for administration have been locked down. If you check the most recent post, the reasoning is laid out right there. That said, if anyone is still feeling a bit confused by the explanation, feel free to ask about it here. Just please, let's try to keep the off-topic chatter to a minimum.

Side note: how does this work? Is everyone who posts something against the mods going to get a strike? If so, then please just rename the thread to why think this administration isn't working, and let people actually say why they do or don't like things. That shouldn't be an issue, right?

Can we please stop implying that anyone who posts something critical about the administration is going to get slapped with a ban? Honestly, this entire thread and the attached PDF are absolutely packed with critical posts that—believe it or not—haven't resulted in anyone getting kicked off the site.

Just wondering if future posts on this thread about how (un)qualified the admin team is will get deleted? If they are, should we just start a new topic for that stuff, or can someone with the right permissions just change the title?

Exactly.

I mean, who’s actually losing their mind here? In my own thread regarding the double standards on the Women's Corner, I laid out clear evidence—links to posts where I was told why I shouldn't comment on women's bodies in the Men's Corner but should in the Women's Corner, and how the guys commenting on threads dominated by women are basically just aggressive trolls. It's blatant chauvinism/trolling that absolutely warrants a warning, yet rustydrifter10 just writes, "I don't see any reason for a warning here," and locks the whole thing down. 🤣
The fact that anyone reaching out to the main administration keeps getting shut down is obvious if you bother to look at the recent threads. There have been cases just like mine where people posted links proving they were being treated unfairly, and just like what happened to me, a few days pass and the thread gets locked with a standard message. Lately, it seems like the administration's default policy is: the average user is always wrong.

@rustydrifter10
With that kind of dictatorial approach, you're only going to fuel the fire. The resentment toward you isn't going to fade; it's going to grow. And we all know how dictators usually end up.

P.S. Don't take the part about how dictators end literally. 😉 We're well past the era of old-school revolutions and guillotines. 🤣 You'll keep your head on your shoulders, don't worry too much. 😁

And then they try to play me for a fool, claiming I’m dragging my issues out on the PŽK everywhere I go. 🤣
I am not dragging anything out, especially since the administration doesn't give a damn about anything posted on the PŽK anyway. It doesn't matter if you provide clear, black-and-white evidence—like direct links proving moderation failures—it won't mean a thing to them. ☕

But hey, whether I'm the only one whose appeal gets shot down through the fast-track process or if there's an entire sea of people dealing with the same thing on the PŽK...

You're boring.

Closing threads is actually one of the smarter moves this administration has made. You can't have a thread where everyone just strokes each other's egos while simultaneously trying to maintain order and solve actual problems—it just doesn't work.

The concept itself was solid; a simple Q&A format is perfect for these things. But instead, the admins let it devolve into a cycle of question-answer-commentary-answer-whining...

Why did they let it happen? I’d say the main reason is that big leader's idea to make the staff "super-user-friendly." Of course, the mods share the blame here—by being stingy with partial bans and perms, they basically let everything go to hell. But then again, if they hadn't, they wouldn't be "super-mega-friendly" in theory.

Would the forum benefit from a specific thread for small fixes? Sure, but it needs ultra-strict moderation and a status that signals once an admin answers, the matter is closed. A great example would be the "appeal cards" thread, which runs flawlessly. The real question is how such a topic fits into the current vision for the forum.

I find myself in complete agreement with everything fadedsailor932 wrote.

In my view, rustydrifter10 lacks the fundamental competence required for anything beyond basic moderation. She simply isn't equipped to handle the inherent pressure of an administrative role; she fails to maintain any sense of objectivity, constantly shifting her stance whenever the wind changes direction. It’s impossible for her to make a firm decision and actually stick to it, which means she can't treat all the forum members with the consistency that such a decision demands. Her responses to posts are incredibly selective; she tends to ignore anyone offering actual substance, choosing instead to focus on trolls or jokes—even when those comments are directed at her personally—under the convenient excuse that, as an admin, she isn't obligated to engage.

As for the topic itself, if it were being moderated properly, it might actually yield something worthwhile. As it stands now, it’s better off being locked, because it’s doing nothing but generating an endless stream of garbage.

I’m not being annoying. 🤷

This isn't just about my specific topic; there are plenty of examples where evidence is clearly laid out, yet it gets completely ignored or dismissed. Every single time a similar thread pops up, people link back to previous posts as proof, and most of the time, those points are shot down through some quick procedural maneuver and closed out.
Even when a user filing a complaint is clearly in the right, the administration often resorts to rationalization. Knowing their decision isn't actually fair, they start hunting for excuses to justify their biased treatment of the user—essentially acting like "the user is always wrong," which is nothing new given how the admin team at PŽK has been operating lately 🤷—just to spin their own arbitrary behavior into something looking legitimate.

It's a shame. I used to stay away from PŽK entirely; wherever else I participated in discussions, I never had issues. Then the stuff with ŽK starts. I come over to PŽK, see that ŽK is the most talked-about thing here, and I think, well, that explains a lot. 🤷

P.S. You aren't exactly the gold standard for moderators either. I also post on the Soccer forum where you're a mod, and I see how much chat and off-topic nonsense is allowed (regularly permitted for the same group of troublemakers), yet that same leeway is granted to some and denied to others. At least you, as a mod over there, shouldn't be so loud about shoving this administrative-moderator brand of "justice" down users' throats. 🤷

P.P.S. I'm predicting this thread will be shut down shortly. Yeah, for the exact same reasons the "Questions" threads were closed. If you want to know why—why a thread meant strictly for technical questions directed at the admins often turns into a vent for personal grievances—it might be due to administrative oversight. It could be the result of accumulated frustration from users whose complaints are being ignored, causing them to voice their problems everywhere on PŽK, including the question for administration section. Though, I doubt that's the case. After all, the admins and mods are always right. Or maybe it's some kind of conspiracy against the administration. Who knows.

Thanks for being you. 🙂

I believe it is a missed opportunity that we won't have a dedicated question for administration section, and I truly hope this changes eventually; however, I am not at all regretful about moving away from the kind of chaos we used to see in those threads.

The process, in my estimation, could and perhaps should function as follows:
1. A user submits a question (the question must be submitted in their own name, remain specific rather than general, theoretical, or rhetorical, and clearly state whom it is directed toward).
2. The administration responds within a reasonable timeframe (providing an answer that is specific, concise, and clear).

And that is all there is to it.

In short, questions ought to be actual questions, not a platform for endless debate with the administration—or what we have been witnessing lately: heated arguments between certain individuals or factions in conflict.
The user receives the space to ask their question, and the administration holds the responsibility to provide an answer, provided the inquiry meets the aforementioned criteria.

Generalities, asking on behalf of others, arguing out of disagreement once an answer has been provided, reposting the same questions in special PŽK threads after they have been closed, using clone accounts to circle back to previous questions, allowing outside PŽK specialists to linger here, or seeking a second opinion (such as demanding another administrator's input because the first answer wasn't favorable, specifically requesting a male or female admin, or appealing to an admin because a supermoderator's response was unsatisfactory...) should all result in the immediate removal of the thread and, without exception, disciplinary action.

Now, I realize I might sound a bit authoritarian, but I am convinced this is the only way this section can function effectively. Any deviation from this structure inevitably leads to the absolute mess we dealt with until recently.

Recently, a colleague from a sub-forum called me out for ignoring a question he had posted in the Q&A section. He was right, of course; I didn't respond. It wasn't because I wasn't reading the PŽK, but rather because his inquiry got lost in a storm of spam and trolls that was blowing through the questions while two groups of users continued their feud there. We simply don't need that. That is why I hope that if—or when—this section reopens, things will not revert to the old ways. If the administration (and the boss) decide that questions cannot be managed this way or that such a section would be counterproductive, I would much rather see it remain closed than see it descend into total mayhem again.

🤣

You are.

You relentlessly force your way into every single thread on PŽK instead of just sitting tight for a few months and requesting a partial refund, which is clearly what would suit you best.

It is truly a pity you don't grasp that, but you are the absolute last person who should be complaining about anything to rustydrifter10. The very last.
Because, if any other administration were in charge, you would have been banned ages ago. And that is not even mentioning your threats regarding the abuse department.

Just stop it already. For heaven's sake.

In any case, the idea behind a question for administration is actually quite brilliant in theory, but in practice, it obviously fails because there is far too much chatting and spamming allowed. But really, is that such an impossible problem to solve?

When you aren't happy with how things are going, the easiest move is just to toss a key into the lock. 👍

...and then you just let all that dissatisfaction and criticism aimed at the administration drift aimlessly into the void. 😍

...meanwhile, the paycheck still hits the account right on schedule 👍

...and suddenly, all four of them just vanish into thin air. 😍

As far as I'm concerned, that question for administration thread should never have been closed. All those minor questions being asked were perfectly valid, and honestly, opening a whole separate topic just to deal with them was incredibly stupid, truly stupid.🤷

The issue isn't really about him being strict; it's more about how he unconditionally "backs up" rustydrifter10.
Even in this latest situation, you can see him agreeing with the users and acknowledging that rustydrifter10 is in the wrong—yet he still takes her side.
Personally, I have a lot of respect for loyalty, but when people start throwing shade at you just because you're being loyal, and you end up looking like the bad guy, then it’s not really loyalty anymore. It's starting to look a bit foolish.

I mean, can't you guys just start some kind of vote over in the moderator section or... I don't know... something? 🤷

I absolutely can, and I certainly am. Look, he originally opened up this platform specifically so he could address questions from our community after everything that went down here. Once he handed the reins over to Strilet and me, we were finally free to run things exactly how we thought was best—and honestly, I think what we’ve accomplished is exactly what needed to happen.

...but you are responsible when all of us who criticize the administration—which basically means criticizing your work—get handed bans that you hand out under the guise of "trolling" (😕). Then, on the flip side, when a group shows up specifically to attack those of us who criticize, they automatically protect you. The worst thing I expect to happen is having my posts deleted.

And if anyone here is actually refusing to communicate civilly—it's you!
If you don't like something, you just delete it.
Take my own example from last week, where you banned me and wiped my post.
Not to mention how you deleted about five of my attempts to quote the question on the main board, claiming it was "unpleasant." 🤦
The truth usually works like this....

As soon as you didn't like what was being said, you nuked the post, regardless of whether it was relevant or not. Like that time you deleted the post where Manchild mentioned his relation to Striks... I mean, seriously? 😕
How do you even justify deciding for someone else whether they should or shouldn't write something like that? Just... wow. 🙄🤣

I think we had a bit of a misunderstanding there—of course you can, especially since you've already got all the right tools at your disposal to make it happen.
If you happened to miss the sentence right after that: The corporate culture here basically tells you that you shouldn't go over your boss's head. It's one of those unwritten rules you just kind of pick up along the way—like how you wouldn't walk into a Starbucks and try to tell the manager how to brew their coffee. You just follow the chain of command and keep things moving smoothly.

Look, if this truly represents your absolute best and you've already hit your ceiling, then I honestly think you're just the wrong people for the job. It’s like hiring a local high school squad to play against the Dallas Cowboys—it doesn't matter how much heart they have if they simply don't have the skill set required for the level. You can't blame the players for being outmatched when the management picked them in the first place.

rustydrifter10 said:It looks like the main topic here is the question of why the questions for administration have been locked down. If you check the most recent post, the reasoning is laid out right there. That said, if anyone is still feeling a bit confused by the explanation, feel free to ask about it here. Just please, let's try to keep the off-topic chatter to a minimum.

The topic here is why those "questions" were locked, but honestly, part of us—or at least me—feels like this thread is just a direct reflection of your inability to handle things as an admin. It feels like you shut it down because lately, it’s become a bit of a hot potato that you just don't know how to manage.

The reason I didn't include that specific part in the headline—or why I'm hesitant to start an entire thread just about it—is honestly just a matter of common courtesy. I don't want to be that person.
People can think whatever they want about me or my reasoning behind these topics, honestly. But let’s be real—nobody actually enjoys reading a harsh critique. It’s uncomfortable. So, I figured I’d soften the edges a bit and frame things this way instead.
If you really feel like we need to start a dedicated thread just to get everyone's take on how the admin team is handling things around here—go ahead and write it.

I'm with you on that.
rustydrifter10 was more than just a solid asset, but being a great soldier doesn't automatically make someone a great leader—and her performance definitely proves that point.

It’s just a lot of circling back to points where she clearly doesn't want to be cornered.

William Bennett53 said:I believe it is a missed opportunity that we won't have a dedicated question for administration section, and I truly hope this changes eventually; however, I am not at all regretful about moving away from the kind of chaos we used to see in those threads.

I agree that’s how it ended up looking, but honestly—who is actually at fault here?

.....leads us right back to the mess we had recently.

But at least they don't go around handing out permanent bans just because they woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Especially when someone actually dares to criticize how they handle things.

If people were treating Nica and Strilet the way they used to treat the former admin... man, they would have been kicked off this site a long time ago.

You received a permanent ban because you were incredibly blunt and openly threatening the former admin and the then-moderator of the US forum—and everything else besides. If we are being honest, you should NEVER have had your ban lifted given the atrocities you wrote back then, which everyone can still see on the Archive if that thread hasn't been deleted yet. It sounded truly sick, and that is why you were permanently removed from the forum.

So... the question might actually be why you were unbanned, while someone like N'Dugi, a former mod, wasn't for something far less significant. Or someone who used to run an entire sub-forum alongside us, but has now dwindled to nothing (plus this new deleted our 'Miss Spirituality of the Year' thread after it had been active for months and N'dugi supported it 🤣 — unbelievable, though I suppose that's meant as a compliment). I wonder if it is because he didn't spend years begging and pestering the new administration to lift his permanent ban after being deliberately provoked on the Archive—he called a moderator a "slur" and that earned him an eternal ban, while certain sick threats from random users go unnoticed? Hallooo?

*I am horrified to think that a user like this can write here freely after everything. Honestly, if I were to ask the administration why, I would do it there. Forgive my intrusion, but for someone like this to come back and write something like this instead of apologizing to the super-mod and the former administration, if any exist, and covering their ears.
