Amanda Kelly said:That driver gap between No. 1 and No. 2 has been stuck in my head all afternoon.
And if you ask me, it's most glaring at Ferrari (the biggest headache, at least in my book).

Once again, I think the main issue is Massa. The guy just doesn't function—well enough, anyway—when things get chaotic. And it isn't just about traffic. He lacks consistency. You can't bank on him for anything.

Overtaking wasn't even the issue today. Alonso sliced through the top 3 or 4 like they weren't even there—clearly the best and the fastest. Plenty of spots to move, two DRS zones. Everyone was passing anyone they could catch.
That 40-second gap? For me, it's unbearable, and I'm putting it squarely on the driver. It's too wide. Unacceptable.
And I can't view Massino grabbing 6th place as some kind of success or an "OK" result. Rosberg and Webber dropped out, and if they had finished, they probably would've been ahead of him anyway.

I get the feeling Felipe is pretty disappointed and frustrated himself. He was flying during the FP's and expected more from qualifying—he said so himself. So what happens to him during the race? I wish I knew that too.

That first pit stop really threw him off, but honestly, his lap times today were visibly slower than Fernando's.
When Fernando was consistently hitting 1:41s or 1:42s, Massa was stuck in the 1:43s.
Toward the end of the race, Alonso was pushing 1:39s or low 1:40s, while Massa couldn't get below 1:40 except for maybe two or three laps. Most of the time, he was just sitting on 1:41s.

Alonso had a great start compared to Raikkonen today. As for Kimi? He absolutely botched his launch—wheels spinning right at the lights, and then he struggled again just after shifting into second.

Last season, Alonso was consistently gaining more ground on the starting grid at the expense of Mark Webber. 😁
Just how many times did he actually screw up the start? It’s getting ridiculous.
I mean, if you look at last season, he barely even showed up three times. Anti-stall. Is there anything more frustrating? At the start. 😂

Lotus really dropped the ball here.
And they actually gave Kimi a proper apology after the race because of it...😁

Samuel Ruiz4 said:Lotus and Kimi Raikkonen are looking seriously fast... that P2 in qualifying just proves they dialed in the single-lap pace, and clearly, it worked. They were already looking solid for the race anyway. Kimi basically admitted he could've gone even faster if it wasn't for that damage... he had a winning car on him. Honestly, they look best alongside Ferrari, and it’s pretty cool seeing three different winners across three races...

Man, wouldn't it be something if Kimi ends up being the champion alongside Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso...😁

Though, personally, I'm having a blast just watching him out there on track regardless.🙏

Just like everyone predicted, those soft tires are absolutely useless now.
1:36.8
1:37.2
1:38.2
1:40.0
Watching Vettel try to hunt down Lewis... you can clearly see how much the performance just falls off a cliff. Honestly, you might get maybe four, five laps out of them before you're basically stuck driving times that you'd be hitting on fresh medium tires.

Susan Alvarez94 said:As I previously stated, he was essentially killed off by an extra lap on those subpar soft tires. He was sacrificed all for the sake of Fernando Alonso. And as for the argument that Alonso was "at a disadvantage because everyone started on softs"—give me a break. Could they not have simply run the third lap of qualifying on mediums so everyone would be on equal footing at the start? Honestly, what kind of conversation are we even having here?🙂 If we are going to engage in these debates, let's actually use meaningful data.😕

Who told you Alonso was first because of that?
Alonso is leading because he and Ferrari were simply the fastest duo there.☕

Even if the pack behind the top 10 had opted for mediums instead of softs, who knows if Kimi Raikkonen or Lewis Hamilton would have actually carved through the field after that first stint to finish up front...
Alonso probably would have, though. He didn't get swallowed up by the chaos quite as badly as the guys behind him did.

Exactly! Either you run into some pissed-off loser arguing with himself (not even talking about today's race, just generally) or you hit something like this (referring to today's comments).
Okay, he won. It’s not the first or last time in the last few years. How did he win? Unbelievable, but he crossed the finish line first just like every other winner before him! What a freaking miracle, never seen anything like it—the greatest achievement in human history after the invention of the wheel and the alphabet!
For example, Vettel finished 4th while Alonso ended up 4th, right behind Vitaly Petrov, in a championship fight! There's zero point in listing more.
Who's the crazy one here? I don't even root for anyone because there's always someone better. I've been watching this phenomenon for a while now, staying quiet so some little punk doesn't think I'm entertaining them🙂, and I can't believe what I'm reading.
I knew an explosion of emotion from Alonso fans would follow. Fine, whatever, he won deservedly, but all this constant mentioning of Vettel has turned into a straight-up complex! If he isn't better, Vettel definitely isn't worse than Alonso—as a person, let alone as a driver. I haven't seen this much insecurity and need to act tough by trashing others since those old war movies.
Whoever said this forum isn't relevant anymore is right. Alonso, the unsung, misunderstood, unfortunate superman on the level of Michelangelo, invoking heights and gods... it's not even funny anymore. What is wrong with you guys? Based on your description of today's race, you'd compare him to van Dam in the first kickboxing movie! Like, he's blind and abandoned, but still the winner.🤮
There's no point arguing here anymore, seriously. The comments are the only things deserving of such "divine" adjectives, but in a negative way. How else do you explain a comment like "Kimi became a total crybaby"? Is this some kind of joke? Think about the Finn driving for Lotus who finished 2nd today because he started 2nd in a car just as good as the winner's? And that's based on that one sentence about Perez? The Perez who did what he did to him?

Good morning—we all know how this goes... and since that's the case, why bother getting worked up over posts like these? 🤷 The more someone unjustifiably trashes their rivals, the more obvious it becomes that they’re dealing with an inferiority complex or a crisis in results. So, in short: don't sweat it.

Signed!

Just imagine the reactions if someone were to call Alonso a double fraud or, God forbid, attribute his victory to Ferrari's excellent car today. Not to mention the tires, which were certainly not doing Red Bull any favors under today's racing conditions.

In any case, everyone on the podium drove an excellent race, and I am particularly pleased that Kimi Raikkonen has finished in the points for twenty races in a row.🙂

And yes, the three-time world champion (just so there is no doubt, there is only one currently on the grid) still leads the overall standings.

Exactly... I'm with you on that...

And honestly, if we looked at Obrvan's win through the eyes of those same fans whenever Vettel takes a victory, they’d be all like: "Oh, what did Obrvan actually achieve today?" He won in a dominant car... anyone in a machine like that would probably beat someone like Gutierez... he just cruised past Hemić, whose car was basically eating its own tires anyway, leaving him sitting there like a sitting duck... and who else did he beat? Oh right... Kimi in that absolute wreck of a car... what a stellar win... truly one of the greatest victories of the decade... 🤣

Everything said there is quite nice, and I more or less agree with it all.
But honestly, why get worked up over it? I haven't been an active poster here for very long, but I've been lurking for ages, and I've realized there is no cure for this.
You just move past it. You ignore them. You feel a bit annoyed 😬 when you see they've gone way too far...
Why would anyone give up on discussions or stop exchanging ideas with the decent crowd here—people you can actually talk to and analyze everything with—just because of a group that worships one driver so intensely they basically "terrorize" everyone else?
I don't want it to seem like I'm discriminating against Fernando Alonso fans or saying they aren't worthy; far from it. It's just that some people love to go overboard, whether they are building up their idol or spitting on his rivals. They do it despite all the effort put in to produce actual good, intelligent posts. 😬

I'd love to see a day where Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso swap seats just to see what happens to the fan dynamic on this forum. Who would be the true loyalists and who would be the frauds? Who would be called the maestro and who would be labeled a total fake?😁

Look, guys, this is sports. Fans and fandom are part of the DNA of any sport.
I don't see anything wrong with expressing emotions more freely—a little trash talk toward an opponent, or just some standard sporting arrogance and bravado.

As the old saying goes—In love, in war, and during a race, all is fair.

The race is over. Now we switch over to "100% constructive" mode. 😁

Some of these folks actually remember when they used to call Alonso a fraud, a cheat, a coward, a little snitch, and all that junk.
Honestly, compared to what they said about Sebastian Vettel or Kimi Raikkonen, they were being pretty soft on them. They went way harder on Alonso, attacking him from every angle imaginable...
So yeah, their reaction is totally predictable. It’s not just predictable—it’s the exact same crowd that spent years insulting Alonso while he was winning in a "wrong car"...

But why even get worked up? There's a great feature on this forum called the "ignore list"... and it's pretty sweet when you have a blue nickname and the privilege to actually use it.😍

I’d bet anything you don't actually use her; you just sit there eagerly waiting for posts like this so you can finally unload on someone.
Regardless of the race itself, thank God the podium ended up looking the way it did, no matter who stood where. That was honestly all I wanted from this race. Reading through the previews the day before, I found myself getting a little anxious that Sebastian Vettel or Jenson Button might actually sneak onto the podium. Even toward the end, when he started closing in on Lewis Hamilton, I was feeling the tension. 😠It would be an absolute embarrassment if, in a standard race free from unforeseen chaos, drivers who simply managed their tires during Q3 were rewarded with a podium finish. In my view, the regulations should be adjusted to ensure there is a dedicated set of tires allocated specifically for qualifying and a separate set for the race itself. Furthermore, we should mandate that the race starts on the exact same tire component used to set the qualifying times.

It would be an absolute embarrassment, honestly. In a way, I'm almost glad it didn't happen, just so we don't have to watch Pirelli and Bernie make fools of themselves with their usual nonsense.
And that definitely wouldn't be fair.

Look, the fact remains that this could have gone down without any real drama. At the end of the day, Vettel and Red Bull completely blew it a few times. If they hadn't messed up, that podium spot would've been a total layup. 😳 Button and McLaren are a different story entirely; they just didn't have the pace for that kind of thing.

First off, they actually let Hulk strip them down right in the DRS zone. Seriously?
Then there was that message about not attacking Hulk, since you'd only gain maybe 0.5 seconds per lap and would probably just shred your tires in the process.
Just let Fernando Alonso pass right by immediately. Seriously. It’s better to just save the tires instead of wasting energy trying to defend a position against him when we aren't even racing him anyway.
They really should have sorted that out so they could've grabbed the DRS advantage during that lap...

Any of that would have netted those crucial 0.3 seconds needed for a podium finish—maybe even that full 2.5 seconds that would've been enough to snatch second place.
They calculated everything using Fernando Alonso's style, which I absolutely hate. Honestly, it's the wrong move, and it's definitely going to cost them the title.😳

I don't know... I'm happy about Fernando Alonso's win, but at the same time, I feel a bit foolish. It feels like I'm being served a cheap, greasy burger when I was expecting a high-quality, juicy steak... or maybe some fresh sea bass.

I'll give things a little more time to settle before making a call, but right now, the whole situation feels like one giant blowjob... I really hope, God, I really hope I'm wrong about this.

They were weak against Hulk in the DRS zone and generally looked sluggish—basically just showing off their "skill" at not actually overtaking on track.
Against Alonso, they were even worse—they basically just waited for him to pick them off in the DRS zone so he'd end up 0.3 seconds ahead of everyone else.

The sheer dominance displayed by the largest presence on the grid is something that truly defies description 🙏

Driven by an almost desperate desire to secure a spot on the podium, Sebastian Vettel committed an amateurish error similar to his performance in qualifying, effectively handing Lewis Hamilton a place on the podium 🙂

Following the fallout of Multi 21, Mark Webber seems to have lost his confidence, a situation further exacerbated by some rather amateurish assessments coming from the energy drink camp

☕ I found Felipe Massa quite disappointing; I expected much more from him, but it appears he simply lacks the pace of a true world champion. Much like Mark Webber in Adrian Newey's car, it seems he will never reach that pinnacle

👋 One waits with bated breath for the GP Bahrain, eager to see if the maestro can utterly demolish Newey's car and the rest of the grid
