How exactly is someone from this forum supposed to help you solve the issue physically?

You check in 'once a week' (at best, once a day), and even then, you fail to provide direct answers to the suggestions or follow-up questions already posted:
post #6 - You can set the tablet to connect as a media device or just for charging; charging might be the default setting.

post #7 - It's simple enough to check (verify what was said in post #6). Connect the cable from the PC to the tablet or phone. If the laptop recognizes the phone and asks you to confirm/allow data transfer, then the laptop and cable are fine. At that point, look at the options/settings on the tablet itself.

post #8 - Can other devices see the tablet's Bluetooth? There is an invisible mode. Usually, the code is 6868 to make it "visible"... at least that used to be the case for factory-set devices

post #15 - Use the easiest solution: an SD card
(meaning you pull the SD card out of the tablet and put it into the laptop slot—or use a cheap USB-SD adapter to connect it to the laptop)

Have you tried uploading an image like a '.gif', '.jpg', '.png', '.bmp', or '.webp' to Google Drive?

Or perhaps a video file like '.avi', '.mov', '.webm', or a standard '.mp4' (not something using H.264/... or other complex MP4 compressions)?

Did you test other file types—for instance, '.pdf', '.txt', '.rtf', '.doc', '.rar', or '.zip'
? rar' or '.zip' file appears on Google Drive on both devices, that should resolve the issue quite effectively.))

Have you attempted to upload or download video files using other free hosting sites similar to 'mediafire.com' (the only one I am actually familiar with)?

- Jumpshare
- Microsoft OneDrive - Box - Hightail
- Box
- Amazon Drive - Dropbox - Hightail - Mediafire
- Dropbox
- Hightail
- Mediafire

You could also attempt to fix this by following tutorials on YouTube:
like this or this

Essentially, you can search YouTube yourself using keywords like
android tablet google mail signin issues
to find a tutorial that suits your needs (language, length, teaching style, etc.)...

Also, Google the specific phrase
android OS google drive couldn't sign in there was a problem communicating with google servers. try again later

Look, I’m telling you, it’s junk. There is zero point in trying to support that ancient version of Android anymore; even if you move everything over via an SD card, the whole thing is going to be painfully slow. It’s just too old—I know, it feels stupid to toss it, but there's really no point.

Thanks for being so patient and sticking with me on this, but honestly, I'm not just gonna toss the thing out because that’s a much bigger headache for me than you might think

How old is she? 😁

I realize the device is ancient, but I simply cannot wrap my head around why it won't connect to Google Drive when the exact same account accesses Gmail without any issues at all.
1. Connect the tablet to Wi-Fi first.
2. Then, open Google Chrome and go to google.com to see if your Google profile name appears in the top right corner. If it doesn't show up, click sign in in that top right corner.

If that fails...

3. Go to Settings -> Accounts -> Google -> Add Account.

If that still doesn't work, get back here and be prepared to perform a total factory reset on the tablet. By the way, what specific tablet are we talking about? And which version of Windows are you running on your laptop?

So, I'm signed into my Google account, right? But then I fire up Chrome and there’s this annoying "Sign-In ERROR for xxxxx@gmail.com" message popping up on the bar—says "no connection" or whatever.
The weird part is, if I just jump straight into Gmail, my messages load up perfectly fine. But when I try to hit up Google Drive, it's like a ghost town... totally empty, even though I know for a fact I uploaded a bunch of videos from my laptop earlier.
I'm using an "K00F" tablet and my laptop is running Windows 10.

Don't throw it away. Everything can be useful for something. It could even work as a digital picture frame.
Just put it on a shelf and set it up to cycle through photos from your family albums every few minutes (or hours?).

What version of Chrome are you rocking? It sounds like Chrome on the tablet is tripping over some HTTPS connections—like those digital certificates that auto-download—or maybe it’s just failing to run the client-side script for Google Drive.

I deal with this stuff all the time on ancient IE6 (yeah, I have to use it for some legacy programs, don't judge me!).

Try patching Chrome to a slightly newer version. Just don't go *too* recent, or you might end up freezing that tablet solid.

What kind of access permissions (visibility, downloading, etc.) did you assign to those files that you apparently can't see on your tablet? They should be there, even if you uploaded them yourself from your laptop.

Try opening Google Drive on the tablet and upload a video and an image file directly
just to see if these newly uploaded files actually show up...

Also, try accessing Gmail or Google Drive using the tablet's default browser... or maybe try Firefox...

It's strange to me that you couldn't connect the tablet to the laptop using the charging cable -> USB and that other adapter.

Were you persistent enough when trying to 'establish a connection'?
(Did you spend at least a few minutes on it: plugging and unplugging the USB and the adapter, waiting a bit, then refreshing the 'This PC' folder while it was open... then doing it all over again? ...etc?)

Some tablets used to come with two micro USB ports, where one was specifically for OTG functionality, so you’ll probably need to dig through the manual to figure out how to toggle the data transfer settings.

there's an exclamation mark popping up, and when I tap it, it says error retrieving information from server. DF-DFERH-01

I guess I'd start by Googling how to fix this error, because once you actually get the Play Store working properly, you might be able to update your apps and things could maybe start functioning.

Did you set the date and time correctly?

Yeah, sounds about right to me—Android is ancient, Google Play isn't working, and since they factory reset the tablet, it probably just rolled back to that prehistoric version of Chrome...

I find it absolutely necessary to point out that any attempt to discuss this matter without acknowledging the sheer incompetence of the current administration is a complete waste of everyone's time. It is nothing short of absurd how people continue to ignore the blatant reality staring them in the face, yet here we are, still dealing with the fallout of decisions made by individuals who clearly lack even a fundamental grasp of the situation at hand. One would think that after everything we have been through, there would be some semblance of accountability, but instead, we are met with a wall of indifference and empty rhetoric that does nothing to address the actual problems facing Americans today. The user says:
I signed into Google using my Account, but now, whenever I launch Chrome, the top bar displays... I am encountering a persistent sign-in error when attempting to access my Accounts via Chrome on my Windows 10 Dell xps, and frankly, I find this level of technical instability completely unacceptable for a device of this caliber. Despite following every standard troubleshooting protocol, the system refuses to authenticate my credentials, leaving me effectively locked out of my essential digital workspace. It is an infuriatingly seamless way to disrupt a productive workflow, and I demand a clear explanation for why such a fundamental feature is failing so spectacularly right now. xxxxx@gmail.comI am currently staring at an "ERROR—no connection" message, and quite frankly, the sheer incompetence of this setup is becoming impossible to ignore.

My apologies, I misspoke—that specific step regarding the Chrome login is entirely irrelevant.

The tablet is...K00FThe laptop is running Windows 10.

An Asus K? I’ve never actually laid hands on one of those models myself, but fine—if you're hell-bent on testing it, go ahead and give this a shot:

Go to: Settings -> Accounts -> Google -> Add account And make sure you go ahead and add your Google email address there as well.
Next, head over to the Google Play Store. Assuming you’ve actually signed in correctly, you should find that using the app functions perfectly without any further complications.

Just a quick heads-up regarding that issue where you can't get your tablet to talk to your laptop: you need to dive into the tablet's settings first. There is a specific option tucked away in there—something akin to "enable USB connection"—that you absolutely have to toggle on before any kind of handshake will happen between the two devices.

You also have to factor in the fact that a tablet needs sufficient storage capacity just to house Google services; without that overhead, things like the Play Store won't even function properly, and frankly, 16GB is laughably inadequate by today's standards. Anyway, good luck.
